I saw that Google has a new browser and i thought "Hey,now i could switch between Firefox and another good browser" but then i researched it and it turns out that Chrome is a spyware.It records everything you do into a packet of info and sends it to google. That leaves the questions "Why does Google want my information?" and "Does this mean that other Google services are spyware?" Well the answer to ques.2 is no. Only Google knows why they want your info. And if you keep Chrome downloaded but don't use it anymore:it still records what you do. It records everything you do,when you do it,and how you do it. Many use Chrome and think it is the best. If you want a service that is very fast + very safe then download Mozilla Firefox at http://www.firefox.com
It is very disturbing how much Google records but no one,besides Google,can change what Google does. Who knows,maybe they are doing this for a good cause? Maybe they are doing this to try to make different browsers for people that do different things. That's a nice thought,but its very unlikely.

Google is the worlds largest and most well respected and resourced search engine. Any information collected will be non-personal. Statistically information based upon what pages are visited.

This can be fixed however by doing the following

"Wrench icon" -> Options -> Under The Hood -> "Help make Google better by automatically sending usage statistics and crash reports to Google."

Fixed.

Even if you dont want to believe that Google are genualy making their browser better you dont have to use it. I use Google Chrome, and i have DISABLED the statistic sending.

Also, Chrome is better than Firefox in speed.
Thats it really.
Firefox wins in everything else, the security and the massive amounts of preposterously useful add-ons.

However, if you ONLY want speed, Opera 10 is THE fastest.

Also, since Chrome is still new, they might be following everything to see what performs well, and what doesn't so they can improve upon the things that don't. For example, you use Firefox and use an add-on that isn't available in Chrome, they realize hey thats useful! and then they add it. ta-daa problem solved.

Sure that's a good idea, problem is that Chrome doesn't even do a lot of the things that are standard such as: Javascript blocking, RSS feeds, proper options and more.

It is at the moment quite lacking so to say.

And yet, because it is brand-new, they are trying to code it in different ways. So bah, I will still be the victor in the end.

Sure coding in new ways is a good idea, but they're already at version 1, they should have gotten some more features in already.

You also have to think about everything else Google does, with gadgets for Igoogle, and a web search (the most popular one) to maintain, they might not have all that much time.

True, true. But why does they bother with this then? And why not wait till you have a more acceptable browser and then reveal it?

Because they felt they might be able to draw more people into using Google and Google devices by revealing it early, possibly not recognizing that they didn't make it all that useful.

as far as a first attempt goes, Chrome is pretty impressive. The best browser is still Opera, but I don't think I'll get it any time soon, as Chrome really does everything i need it to
