I just got the Metal Gear Solid collection today, I only played 1 and 4, and I heard that the other games were good. I was going to play the series in chronological order, but I just wanted to know what you guys think is your favorite game is.

MGS 3 : SUBSISTANCE was the first Metal Gear Solid game I played, when I was about nine or ten years old.

Provided some of the best console game experiences I've ever had, barring two other games.
I enjoyed so many aspects of it, survival, stealth, tactics... And all with the option of not killing anyone. Good game.

I couldn't enjoy the cut scenes back then though, I didn't have the time to watch 'em all... But what I did see entertained me allot, it was totally different from all the western style of stories, it was very Japanese. (in a good way)

And even back then, I thought about what could be expanded with the game play were it not for the many restrictions that were present for the developers, I would've loved a PC version...

I digress, anyway, it also contains my favourite boss-battle to date, the sniper-duel with "The End".
Well, I could put more reasons why I voted for it but I don't have the time or motivation.

I would have voted MGS 1, but I've not played it, but I have it on good authority that it is the best MGS in the series.

Edit : "Snake? Snake?! SNAAAAAAAKE!" "Time Paradox!"  "!"
Thats all the good ones covered... Oh wait "Tasty!". There we go.
