I am way past that age, thus at this point I listen to friends and family having to punish their own kids.

But, since there are so many of you young whipper-snappers, the question still seems a good one:


Do you ever get grounded by your parents, and when you do, what sort of punishment do you usually receive? Sent to the corner? Locked in your room? All of your electronics taken away?


I grew up in a time when cell phones didn't exist and the best home gaming machines were an ATARI 2600 or Nintendo, punishing me wasn't at all the same impact as it would be for most of you. I was sent to my room or not allowed to play on the computer which, at that time, you are talking about having only games with almost no moving graphics like text games. I was only one the computer a few minutes on any given day anyway. I would sit in my room and just work on something else like a puzzle. Spankings were worse than being grounded and sent into solitude.

I agree with TJ. It was a bit more.... extreme in terms of taking away T.V. and whatnot, but I was never sent to stay in my room really.
