So I got a wild hair up my arse and decided to draw something, and I ended up wanting to make a "pixel art" city. I'm still working on it (I intend for this to be a large cityscape) but the first building is completed, along with several other background artifacts that I'm sort of pleased with. Anyway, I wasn't exactly sure what the next building should look like, so I decided to go ahead and post this in case I never get around to finishing it. What do ya think?

I really like it so far. I'm curious to see what your entire scape will look like when it's done.

I especially like that you have random rooms lit and others dark. It adds a really nice touch.

On3On : Not really, but sort of. I used to make a lot of stupid little sprite hacks back in the heyday of sprite comics, and I've tried my hand at various custom sprites (See my minipic for an example) but nothing big like this.

Anyway, I'm a bit disappointed because I've already sort of shelved this project. Which is not to say I've forgotten it, by any means, just that I haven't been working on it in a while. But there is another building almost complete!

You should definitely continue this. I love how SNES-y it looks. Those are my favorite kinds of games. With colorful 2D Pixel art.

If you made a 2D platformer with this kind of graphic design, I'd absolutely play it. Nice city background, classic platforming elements, and a good story, and you've got yourself a pretty good game right there. Glad to read you'll keep at this. It's a good start, no doubt.
