zhoutai, that comp should run firefox just fine.

IE is the only browser I know of that makes a clicking sound when you do stuff. I always hated that. I don't think FF does it even if you want it to.

Firefox does have a tendency to crash, but it's always been manageable for me.

I actually am back on Firefox now. I decided I missed ad block too much. Also I had a ton more tracking cookies since the switch to Opera. I had three from four days of FF and like... thirty-something from two days of Opera.

I did mess around a lot with my security options on Firefox, though, so that has something to do with it I'm sure. But I couldn't figure a way to do the same on Opera. I may not have been looking close enough. The content blocker on Opera also just didn't do nearly as good a job as ad block for Firefox.

Plus I noticed on forums that I had to refresh usually after making a new post to be able to view and review it for typos and such.

Even though it's in Alpha, it kicks major ass.
I use it all the time, huge speed increase since Firefox/Chrome.

When I ran my anti-virus scan I had tons of tracking cookies on my computer compared to what I tend to get using FireFox.

Or do you need an explanation as to what tracking cookies are? For that even I'd need to go to Google to find an accurate explanation, but I'm not really sure what you're wanting an explanation of.

Its just a cookie. An online cookie anyway.I switched to Opera.I don't use it much because its in beta and is likely to have security holes but when i do use it, it is incredibly fast.

FF rarley crashes for me. I blame incompatable addons/antivirus.

Google opera extentions/addons, might be some security things there.

Your page is just being incorrectly cached... Clear you cache, it might be full to bursting (kung pow quote)!

Neyro, just use Opera9. Theres not any changes major worth using alpha software.. + you can use opera extentions.


Tracing cookies monitor what sort of pages you goto ect ect, then some pages will be able to use them to target ads at you.

Opera 10 is much faster than Opera 9, and even though it's in Alpha/Beta, I've been using it for a long time now without problems.

I am very content.

Hmmmm... I'm using Safari. It's pretty good. This'll be my alt. browser. I'll still use Opera, but this will be my #2 choice. I really like this.

Well, the PC version is about as fast as IE...but its much safer than IE. I'm wondering... is netscape dead? Are they safe? I'm thinking about having a 5th browser on my Computer... including IE but i don't use it but stupid Microsoft makes you keep the horrible craptastic thing.

Why would you need 5 browsers? And yes, Netscape is dead since a long time ago.

Well, i would like 5 browsers because I'm a freak and love to switch up different browsers every now and then. Like i used to use Chrome all the time. Then i used to use Opera...well i never really use Opera 10 because its not very secure because its alpha, now i use Safari. Seriously though, is Netscape safe?

They stopped updating it maybe a year ago, and last major update was in 1998, take a wild guess.

Protip: It's not safe nor worth it.

1. IE isn't fast
2. yeah, 5 is at least 3 browsers too many
3. uninstall safari, IE and I guess chrome because it wasn't working right

Correction on Ziggy's post: Do not uninstall IE, uninstalling browsers you don't use is smart but IE is integrated in Windows, it's needed for Windows to work correctly. instead you should keep it as updated as possible.


And at IE being fast, it ain't that fast but it ain't slow. FireFox is actually slower than IE, assuming you use FireFox correctly.
