Yeah, my Firefox is getting to where it takes ages to open up. It's irritating. I think it's because I updated it. It was fine before.

Disable/uninstall addons you dont use.
Sometimes firefox wont open if you dont have an internnet connection.

I like I.E. why? Because everyone is saying that Firefox is safer because the hackers haven't gotten to it yet, but what I think is that the hackers are all going to realize that almost everyone has switched, and will then move and start destroying peoples computers through firefox and I will be the only one using a suddenly hacker-free internet browser MUAHAHAHAHAHAAA

Except you know that Firefox holes get fixed in about 2 days, IE holes can take up to 7 days.

But in that case I'd recommend opera, Safer, faster and all around better than IE.

And less well known that Firefox so even less chance of hackers trying to hack it.

And yet you spread it around, to us who pretty much ARE hackers. Muahaha

I have a friend who really IS a hacker, and he uses those terms.

Also, a hacker wouldnt use IE. A n00b would though.

As for viruses and stuff.. its alot harder to hijack FF than it is iE

but is your friend the kind of person that makes and widely distributes viruses and steals people's information?

Sweet. I uninstalled a few things that didn't work with my newer version of FF and it's just like new again. Thank you.

Add-ons make Firefox more customizable but with the drawback of being slower.

I personally don't really care for startup speed, but I what my browsing to be relatively fast.

I used to use Firefox. I thought it was the fastest and best browser out there. I couldn't have been more wrong. It's far from fastest and far from best. Firefox isn't that good. But its a hell of a lot better than AOL internet!

I don't really recommend Firefox to anyone except real computer nerds, and they always know about it anyways.

Opera is just the way to go for speed. It's also easy to use if you're used to IE.

lol most people know firefox. If they don't, they find out with a quickness.

You can speed firefox up, just get faster fox. Opens more connections to servers so if a server limits speed to 20kb/s per connection and you (like me) have a 1.4mb/s download, you can open more (think default is 4) connections for a faster firefox .

Also, firefox feels like its getting bloaty..

I prefer "Tweak Network", It's pretty much the same deal but a little more light weight.

Also, Firefox in itself is not that bloaty, but it's rather easy to overdo it on the extensions.

Yeah, I remember when i had Dial-Up, Firefox was always incredibly fast at first but then it slows down... Seriously! When i had Dial-Up and first downloaded Firefox it was nearly as fast as High-Speed but then it slowed down until it was only a bit faster than AOL internet D:

wow a very informative topic thread here lol. the reason i didnt use firefox from the get go was because when i first tried firefox out (back in the old day) it was slow on my pc so i kept IE this whole time. I had IE7 but after every1 gave me alot of very good advice i finally installed FF3. I'll admit it is alot better than IE but when i first installed when i would scroll up and down on the pages on here my screen would freeze a tad bit then it would un-freeze so i deleted all those add-ons on the toolbar and now my screen isnt slowing down when i scroll up or down But today FF3 shut down on me twice(i dont know why i had 3 tabs up and when i closed 1 of them off FF3 crashed on me). Other than that its wayy better. Also theres no sound when i click next or back on my browser, is there a way to activate the sound or is that how FF3 operates? Opera, i never heard of that before or chrome until i read the posts on here from every1. I might go install Opera either tonight or tomorrow since it sounds like its alot better than FF3. It could also be that my pc is obsolete that my net crashes on me. AMD Athlon XP 1800+, 1.53 GHz, 80 GB HD, Ati Radeon 9250 model 256 Mb graphics card and 504 MB Ram, thats my pc specs in case every1 was wondering MY OS is Xp home. yea my pc sucks but im runnin broadband internet so its not that bad lol im running 16 Mbps on my connection speed
