If you had avast!, it scans the file being downloaded before you even get it on your computer, and stops the connection if there is a virus.
However, for security, I suggest Firefox.

Whitelisting of javascript with no-script, no other browser has that, so no other browser is as secure. Oh and chrome cannot even turn off javascript which SUCKS.

Edit: I said that wrong, other browsers also has whitelisting but no browser has it as simple as Firefox has it.

And Firefox automatically keeps you up to date, thus eliminating possibilities of cracks in the wall of security.
And Firefox has a super huge range of add-ons available for it, and you can make your own, so you can add anything from website checkers to super security.

All REAL browsers have that. In other words: all browsers except IE.

I have not seen a popup in ALONG time actualy. Its almost the standard in all browsers.

As for browser RAW SPEED, do you actualy know how much faster it loads. FF dosnt take long for me, if Opera10 is 2x as fast.. omg.. my page loads in about 500ms! Its not that big of a deal to me really.

Quoted From Google Chrome:
You've gone incognito. Pages you view in this window won't appear in your browser history or search history, and they won't leave other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close the incognito window. Any files you download or bookmarks you create will be preserved, however.

Going incognito doesn't affect the behavior of other people, servers, or software. Be wary of:
# Websites that collect or share information about you
# Internet service providers or employers that track the pages you visit
# Malicious software that tracks your keystrokes in exchange for free smileys
# Surveillance by secret agents
# People standing behind you
Learn more about incognito browsing.

Just incase peopel didnt fully grasp what "porn mode" is, as mentioned by DM. This is what Google calls it, you can imagine though with them knowing what goes through their search engines it probably isnt to suprising as to why the embedded this.
All browsers with ONLY Vizzed Open (And Google Chrome also having the stat window open)

Ill do it again, but with each browser having 10 of my bookmarks open (i will list them also) (Sorry for the filesize, i had to make the text a size smaller so decided to make the image quality Very High, so people could zoom in for easy readability without loosing massive quality)

Make of it what you will, i only share the information at hand.

Edit for the 9th (and hopefully last) time: Moved thread to Web Splurge.

about:memory, for those interested in seeing that screen.

EDIT: So I did them tests.. and got some surprising results.

The versions I use are,
IE3
IE4.1
IE5.5
IE6
IE7
IE8 Beta
Opera 9.6
Opera 10 Alpha
FireFox 3.0.5
Safari 3.2.1
Chrome 1.0.154

All installed on a fresh copy of XP Pro SP3 (in a virtual PC) with a given 256mb RAM and 1.8ghz core2 duo.

We'll start things off with one tab.
www.google.com.au
IE3 - Showed blank mem usage in task manager.
IE4.1 - Wouldnt run, complained of script errors when trying to load ninemsn website. Couldnt get it to google.com.au either way.
IE5.5 - 912K
IE6 - 18,904K (not sure what caused the 20x mem increase)
IE8 - 23,400K
IE7 - 24,392K
Opera - 24,972K
Opera10 - 22,322K
FireFox - 36,148K
Chrome - 15,440K + 21,212K = 36652K
Safari - 37,084K

Results are in!

Now we'll look at 2 tabs.
www.google.com.au
www.aol.com

IE3 - No tabs.
IE4.1 - No tabs.
IE5.5 - No tabs.
IE6 - No tabs.
Opera10 - 35,328K
Opera - 38,040K
Safari - 47.656K
FireFox - 54,220K
IE7 - 59,952K
Chrome - 23,232K + 31,416K + 15,480K = 70128K
IE8 - 17,764K + 60,360K = 78124K

Results are in!

Now we'll look at 10 tabs!!! (IS HE MAD!!.. no just an average browserer)
www.google.com.au
www.firefox.com
www.ie.com
www.xe.com
www.vizzed.com
www.palib.info
www.vizzed.com/vizzedboard/
www.insaneparadox.com
www.nds-brewed.info
www.yamum.com (Shame, site dosnt exist, but i goto it anyway!)

IE3 - No tabs.
IE4.1 - No tabs.
IE5.5 - No tabs.
IE6 - No tabs.
FireFox - 50,544K
Opera - 53,608K
Opera10 - 56,560K
Safari - 65,704K
IE8 - 69,316K + 19,076K = 88392K
IE7 - 114,964K
Chrome - 29,600K + 27,352K + 23,784K + 19,700K + 11,160K + 18,096K = 129,692K

Final results are in!
Dont use IEX.X.. you'll regret it later.
What Chrome looses in memory, it gains in multi-processing (multi-core CPU's take most use of this).
On average opera (both 9 and 10) came out to be the best, especialy dealing with laggy sites (aol.com).
But for customization and memory usage, I have to give the gold medal to firefox.

I'm all about the Firefox. I've liked others, just not IE. Oh no, never IE. I want to just uninstall it but just today I came across an issue of something I was trying to use not working then part of the issue was that I hadn't updated IE ever and it needed to be at least IE 5. What the hell is that about, anyway? It wasn't like the program used IE to function. Stupid Microsoft. *shakes a fist*

I'm done now. Anyway, I like Firefox but might be open to checking out this Google Chrome I hear of. This is actually the first I've heard of it.

Have you been under a rock? [one of them ones where google hasnt paste trademark logos and web addresses for google related produts]

Yeh, never liked IE, but I keep it there and updated for a few reasons.
1. Web dev. Always need to test in IE
2. Lots of things need IE to run on windows.

I realize now I need to keep it updated, yeah. And BigBob, you could say that I have indeed been under a rock. I didn't have internet from early May '08 to this past Saturday.
