Here is my theory on religion. I will use Christianity as an example.

Let’s say you don’t believe in god and he doesn't exist. You loose nothing.

Let’s say you believe in god and he does exist. Look at what you gain: riches in the after life beyond your wildest dreams (I’m not talking about material items).

But let’s say you don’t believe in god and he does exist. Look at what you have lost. You now spend eternity in hell. Pretty sad, because you've lost out on everything.

On the other hand let’s say you do believe in god and he doesn't exist. Look what you have lost, nothing. You've lived a nice peaceful life. You have nothing to regret.

And if nothing else the bible should be used as a standard for society. Something we can all hope to achieve. Peace and love. Its something we can all shoot for.

I dunno. I guess I find it hard to believe in the Bible because all it sounds like is an overzealous fairy tale to me. =/

It's nicer for me to know that my gods are real, and materialistic as well, and to know that when I die, I'll be reincarnated, and my physical body will go back into the Earth, and feeding another cause.

The Bible isn't all happy go lucky sunshine and farts.

It's about ruthless justice by any means, and that's not something I'm for.

But, I don't believe in god by any means and I wouldn't want "his" book ruling my life.

I think religion shouldn't even come into practice in politics.

John, As I've said. I -can't- believe in god, and I -can't- follow the bible.

While I think the parts about jesus doing good things was a good example of how we live our lives. Most christians who believe in all of that stuff don't follow those examples.

I know what you meant, and sorry for going off on a tangent. I guess it's more of a

"I don't -want- to believe in your God."

Type of thing. I would feel like I'm missing out on my magick and getting stronger with it. Magick is too fascinating to give up for something I don't know exsists.

Ok John you make sense as I have said, but you can't just dicide to belive in God like that, it has to come from the hart, just "fake" beliving in him to be saved wont do you much good, he wants you to WANT to love him with your whole soul mind and strengh (Mark 12:30) And I don't belive in blind faith.
