Year 2, 6-7 years
Year 3, 7-8 years
Year 4, 8-9 years

Secondary school

Year 8, 12-13 years
Year 9, 13-14 years
Year 10, 14-15 years, G.C.S.Es
Year 11, 15-16 years, G.C.S.Es

Sixth Form/College
Year 12, 16-17 years, A-Levels/BTec
Year 13, 17-18 years, A-Levels/BTec

University

The ages can vary, and college can take more than 4 years if necessary. But this is basically how it works. Also, I'm not sure what the difference is in England between College and University. But here in the states they basically mean the same thing.

Elementary school:
Kindergarten, 5-6
First Grade, 6-7
Second Grade, 7-8
Third Grade, 8-9
Fourth Grade, 9-10
Fifth Grade, 10-11

Middle School:
Sixth Grade, 11-12
Seventh Grade, 12-13
Eigth Grade, 13-14

High School:
Freshman, 14-15
Sophomore, 15-16
Junior, 16-17
Senior, 17-18

College:
Freshman
Sophomore
Junior
Senior

Thankyou very much! In England, college is like, a step below university, academically speaking.

And "Reception" would be pre-school. You don't have to go to pre-school to go to kindergarten, though. I didn't; I just went to daycare until I was five and then went to kindergarten.

We have a similar structure to what you have their in Australia, however we have:

Public School - Years kindergarten to Year 6
High School    - Years 7 to Years 12
University        -  After completion of Year 12.

Although there other avenues to university, such as TAFE (our version of college).
