Hey guys, I know it's been a while, but I decided to log back on to get some answers to this question:

Will I have to go to summer school?

Here is my situation. So I have mostly A's and B's as year averages for all my academic classes, but my English teacher this year is a toughie. He only gives about 3-5 assignments per marking period, and they are small, trivial things like worksheets that take 5 minutes to do. He doesn't even grade our main essays because "Everyone's writing is equal". And so, even though I write beautifully, and he has personally commended some of my poems and essays, I am ending the school year with a 68.9% in his class. (D+). Do you think because of this I have to go to summer school? If he gives another graded assignment, I might be able to bring it to a C, but its not looking too likely.

I'm really worried about this. Any advice?

Summer School sucks.

As long as you pass the class, you will generally be able to avoid summer school. Summer School exists to make sure you make up a class you failed, and can advance to the next level.

You shouldn't need to go.

I'm not sure whether it matters at this point, but I would actually talk to some higher school authority about it if you had to.

Of course, the best course of action at that point would to be to ask your teacher for another assignment and explain why if need be, but that doesn't always work.

My high school forced students to go if they had a D or lower, which in your case is true.
