I was just looking and was disappointed that I couldn't find Rogue Galaxy on here to rate. So I thought I would just make a post about it and rate it myself. This is a really really incredible game and well worth mentioning! This is a PS2 game.
The story begins with Jaster Rogue, a young boy who lived on the planet Rosa as a child. He was raised by a Priest named Raul, who is like a father to Jaster. Jaster's long time dream is to leave Rosa and explore space. One day a huge beast appears and begins attacking Jaster's hometown of Salgin. Jaster, being an adventurous youth, runs after the beast. He is ambushed by a group of smaller beasts and is aided by a mysterious hooded man. After the battle, the hooded man spots two space pirates roaming around town. The hooded man then gives Jaster his weapon, the Desert Seeker, one of the legendary Seven-Star Swords. The man then runs away along the rooftops. With the Desert Seeker in hand, Jaster is mistaken by the two space pirates as a legendary bounty hunter named Desert Claw. The two soon help Jaster defeat the giant monster attacking the town. <- should mention that was borrowed from Wikipedia.
This game is a lot like the Final Fantasy games. Where you can do the story or the hours and hours of side quests. Epic weapons and armor, Collectibles, there is even a factory where you make items and weapons!
Overall: 9 - Love this game. Hours and hours of fun and challenges!
Graphics: 8 - This game had a different kind of graphics. Kind of like paper Mario but more 3D. I really enjoyed it for the fact that it was a little different.
Sound: 8.5 - Really good soundtrack, it really worked with the mood of the game. It pulls you in as if you were there.
Addictive: 9.5 - Warning! Highly addictive! Like I said before there is just so much to do in this game and its all intertwined so once you get doing one thing it leads to another and you just cant stop!
Story: 9 - An amazing story. Very deep at points where you actually can feel what Jasper is feeling and when it's leading up to a boss battle your as ready to go as he would be actually fighting the boss! As well as the rest of the characters who all have their own deep and at times very sad stories .
Depth: 9.5 - This is a very in depth game. There is so much to do. Collecting the Seven Star Swords, which you need to do a lot of side questing and collecting to get them all. The factory where you have to make items to get other items such as one of the Seven Star Swords (like I said very intertwined) "The Seventh Mystery" I will let you find that one out yourself if you want to play it. Not all of these things are easy to get either. Some things that you have to get from people you have to find a way to activate them for the option to come up or the show up in one of three random places and so on. I could probably write for hours on the depth so I suggest you get the game and experience it for yourself!
Difficulty: 8 - If you just play through the story properly its a pretty easy game, the end boss is quite a challenge if you don't know how to do it right. Even when you figure out how to do it, its a long battle and takes a lot of patience which means you cant at any point lose your cool! My second play through was a little easier but I also changed what I did and in what order. Which I have read that people have started over because they didn't level up all of the characters and you NEED all of them for the last battle, it is a must! It one of those games like Final Fantasy 7, you need to know what your doing and you need to take the time to figure things out.
Now that I have written this I think that I am going to go play it. Seriously!
