It's always been a topic that has interested me, but I don't know that much about electronics. The only thing I've ever made with a circuit board is a simple LED circuit on a prototyping board (What do they call those, breadboards?). It's always fascinated me, but I don't really know where to start with this sort of thing.


Those interested may also want to check out Arduino. I don't really know much about it, except that a lot of people like it for rapid prototyping.

Indeed! I built an entire analog synthesizer from MFOS (Music From Outer Space). The website is musicfromouterspace.com

I took me a while to solder the thing up and there's a ton of wire in it. To make music with it you have to use a voltage trigger keyboard. The only way I can do that is with a MIDI to Voltage Gate adapter which I haven't gotten a chance to build yet.

I actually have.

In my senior year of high school, for the final project in physics (I still don't get what it had to do with physics...) we had to make a circuit board which would help a Stereo/CD Player work.

It took a fair amount of time, and it was a b**** to work with... but it worked perfectly, and I felt so very accomplished.
