Why is this pokemon SOOO hard to catch? Honestly, it's like trying to catch Ho-oh. I've used about 80 great balls and I'm not at the point in the game where I can purchase ultra balls. I was going to make Beldum a part of my team but his catch is making it impossible. >.<

Beldum has a catch rate of 2. So yes, it is comparable to legendaries. I would suggest paralyzing him and getting him to low health and even then you will be throwing lots of pokeballs, especially if you using great balls. Although, I noticed you said you were used 80 great balls, if you use the f2/f4 saving method you shouldn't use any more than 1 great ball/ultra ball to catch any pokemon. For example, press F2 before throwing a ball. If the pokemon breaks free, press F4. This will reset you game back to before you threw the ball and any lost balls thrown will be restored! Good luck.

It took me around 30 minutes to catch it on POW(pokemon online world) where their are no save states
The stratagy i used is using a sleep move and spam double team then after a ton of turns spam timer balls....luckly the first one i got was Adamant^^

I've never bothered trying to catch beldum, I don't even like the pokemon.

He is hard to catch because I tried to catch him and he wasted all my pokeballs and i took me about 20 minutes to catch him and he is a very strong pokemon when he evolves into a metagross

When you think about it, you really should be happy that the beldum is hard to catch.  Since beldum is so hard to catch, it shows how good beldum will be if you do catch it.  It seems like it is a risk-reward thing that you have to be careful about, but will eventually help you in the end.
