Mod Edit: We don't have this chat anymore so I am unstickying.
Most of the content is from the original rules thread-
I've noticed that a lot of people lately have been asking for a "hard" set of rules to follow in the chat. They aren't written down anywhere (just implied) but it's hard for me to automatically mute/kick people because I don't know if they know what they're doing or not. So, this list of rules should be good enough to explain the chat so people can't say they haven't seen these yet.
tl;dr- Read these to not get punished.
FYI:
Mute = A twenty minute timeout in the chat when you cannot send any messages, but you can still see everyone talk.
Kick = A twenty-four hour timeout from the chat. You are ejected from the chat and cannot get back in until 1 day after the kick. Once a kick is made, it cannot be ended prematurely.
Ban = Only globals and above can enact a ban. You are ejected from the chat and can never enter it, unless a global decides to remove it. Used only in the most severe of circumstances.
Colors in chat represent your rank.
Purple - Owner (Davideo7 only)
Red - Admins (Global Moderators)
Bold Green - Mods (Local Moderators)
Indigo - Elites, Mods-In-Training
Orange - Site Staff
Blue - Trusted
1.
Respect everyone in the chat. This rule is probably the most important out of all of them. Nothing makes you look more like an idiot and a jerk than insulting other members in the chat, especially in front of everyone else. Depending on the severity, there will be no warnings about this: just instant mute, kick, and possibly ban.
2.
Do not spam. Spamming can range anywhere from typing "adkfasdf" over and over again to posting the same link multiple times in a row. The System should automatically take care of this issue, but the mods are allowed to take action if they feel like you are spamming. Excessive use of memes is not cool and will not be tolerated. If you say arrow to the knee jokes over and over, you can expect a mute.
3.
Keep the chat PG. (The Mature Chat is rated PG) The site is family friendly, which means that the chat is too. The chat should be kept so that a 12-year-old and their parents can be in the chat and not feel uncomfortable at all. This rules needs to and will be enforced much more strongly. The Mature Chat will be more lenient, but there are still rules that need to be enforced. No porn, for example.
See the full list here. 4.
General Chat room is for all ages. Users should not be posting or talking about adult stuff in there that shouldn't be read by younger kids. If you can't, the Mature Chat is always there for you.
5.
Don't embed Youtube videos into General Chat. Don't do it in any chat besides the Youtube room, actually. If you want to share a video, post the link to it and people that want to see it will click on it. Also, don't post your link over and over again.
6.
Don't RP in General Chat. Role playing goes in the role playing room. PM people that you want to join you. But don't PM those that don't want the invitation, and don't force people to come with you.
7.
Don't post in all caps. It's just annoying and looks completely spammy. Posting in all caps will count as an offense. TaLkInG lIkE ThIs counts as spam, too.
8.
Use appropriate fonts. No symbols, upside down letters, tiny cursive writing, bright colors, clear text, or anything that could make your text hard to read. A mod (and probably other users) will ask you to change it back, and not doing so will result in a mute.
9.
Talk and links about Pokefarm/GPX Plus is not allowed. It's been overused and has resulted in a lot of "CLICK ME CLICK ME" spam. It's one of the few specific things that we don't allow in chat.
10.
Mods and above get the last judgement. Now obviously, these rules won't cover every instance. In every other case, mods will have the last say on what goes on in the chat. If you really feel like a mod is not doing their job right, PM a global with the date and time of the incident, and they'll look into it.
