Anyone else planning on being at the midnight release?
I'm highly anticipating this movie, simply because it still stars will smith, he's been making great movies since I was a kid, and he is still worth watching.   MIB3 seems to follow the plot of its prequels which makes me truly wonder, what the plot will be like.  ( I have yet to see a trailer for it so I'm very curious)

And is anyone not planning on seeing it?

I am honestly not. Don't get me wrong. I really liked the first Men In Black movie. The second one was okay as far a sequels often go. But Men In Black 2 came out 10 years ago. 9 times out of 10, when they decide to make another sequel that long after the last movie came out, it is horrible. Going to the movies can be expensive, so when I go, it has to be something I am sure I will really like. If I see this, it will be from Redbox or something. When I saw the commercials for this about a month ago, my thought was "they are really running out of ideas for movies" because I saw it right after the preview for the new Spider-Man movie.

rcarter2 : well, you are right, most of the time sequels so far apart  are terrible ( star wars is a good enough example ) honestly, I love the original 3  but the new ones just seem to be missing something.  maybe its the difference in special effects, or the style of acting. but you are 100% right there.  And yes, they are running out of ideas, but it had to happen eventually I suppose.

However, most of the time, what i look for in movies, is actors, rather than content when they talk about new movies coming out..  for instance this one has will smith in it.  and throughout his career, it is very hard to say,  "oh wow this movie/TV show was a terrible, for Will Smith to have been in it makes me wonder why he accepted the role". its the same way with Johnny Depp, they are both good at only accepting roles that are part of well thought-out plots, ( or comedies) that are funny in a good way, not a stupid way.

So in the end I'm really just hoping that Will Smith made another good decision, and wont let me down.

The excessive use of toys-r-us like gadgets makes the MIB series weak. First movie was good but the second one was horrible. MIB should have been more like x-files and not a comedy where their entire office looks like a mcdonalds play pin with the plastic tubing all over. I didn't see any talking pug in the trailer hopefully they don't leave him out or that would be a disappointment for MIB fans.

Why squander cash on movie tickets? Other more ninja-like ways of watching movies exist and I won't fail to exploit them. Maybe I'm simply an iconoclastic ninja because I cherished the good times from the first and second MIBs. there's the right conglomeration of plot and comedy. Never doubt the jocoseness of Mr. Will Smith my friend!

Yes there are legal and safe ways of watching movies that you are unsure about going to the theatre to watch
Men In Black three was one of those for me, enjoyable enough to watch at home but not to go to the theatre for

As a hardcore fan of the series since I was a little child and barely understood that the globs of gel everywhere were meant to be "bug" guts everywhere, I can say that I was delighted by the new Men in Black movie. I agree with the Original Poster; Will Smith is the main reason why I go to the movies, sometimes. It's certainly why I'm going to see After Earth when it comes out. (Seeing how his adorable son turned out as an actor after The Pursuit of Happyness will be a plus! ) Any science fiction movie that stars Will Smith instantly captures my attention now. And though I despise time-travelling, and have more than a few questions left over about the plot and how it affects what should have happened in the first movie, Men in Black III did not disappoint.

I have only seen the second movie once, and I have no real inclination to ever see it again. I don't really remember what happened in the movie beyond a basic outline of the plot, but after coming across the vehement reactions and ridicule of other fans who actually remember it, I have no desire to rehash my memory. That being said, I would watch the third movie again in a heartbeat. I have, actually. And it would be entirely worth it. So yes, I became a slavering fan girl when news of a third Men in Black came out, and yes, I was excited. Funnily enough, I still am, merely thinking about that anticipation brings it rushing back in an emphatic onslaught!

Men in Black 3 to me was a movie I would rather wait to watch, than go to watch.

It was a good movie yes, but I actually liked the first one better.

Men in Black 3 didn't grab my attention as much, but none the less still grabbed it, which is why I would still watch it till this day.

But when it came out, I just waited for the DVD release to see it.
