I emailed you and sent you a message on Skype regarding the tip money (actually I've sent you a few messages over the past few days on Skype but got no response). Due to investing $3000+ into the plugin over the past few months and having a son born soon, I literally have like no money to spare. I do plan to sell some stuff to come up with the money, I still haven't found any buyers for the stuff though.

As I said, once the new plugin goes live, I'll post your paypal address in the announcement telling users to donate to you to help you out. However, I'm not going to launch the new plugin until it's ready. It's just about ready but there's 1 problem with it:

Nintendo NES and Famicom games have lag issues (which would be the FCEUX emulator). Once we get that issue fixed, I'll make the plugin live right away and you should start receiving a few donations instantly. As far as I know, the plugin is perfect except for that issue.

I tried loading up Zelda using FCEUX, but it works fine for me.  Any ideas how I can reproduce?

tom760 : I don't know how you could reproduce the problem I have with NES. The problem is that the audio severely lags by cutting in and out, also the emu speed is slow. I have that problem on both Firefox and Chrome, but what I found to fix the problem is to minimize the browser while the game window is open.

On IE, FCEUX has no video, also the audio problem is the same.

This wasn't present with Plugin 1.64.

The weird thing is, I don't have this lag issue. I'm wondering if it's something to do with operating system, I think rcarter2 and tRIUNE has windows XP but let me confirm.

tRIUNE : Try restarting your internet browser and than try to play an NES or FDS game.

This is what I have found out (after trying the minimizing tip tRIUNE mentioned). I don't have to minimize my browser window to fix the lagging problem. I can hit the 'restore down' button instead of minimize, and as long as the browser window covers anything less than half of my computer screen, I no longer have lag problems. Once I make my browser window cover half the screen or more, the lag is back.

Restoring down the browser works as well. Also, I didn't notice when I was testing the Plugin on the various game systems until now that this problem happens for SNES as well, but not any of the other systems - even the larger files of N64 have no lag.

People need to donate money this is just sad and pathetic. I think you might have to start charging membership fees which would help fund tom and cover new addons. I'm sure if you have internet or are using a iphone you can afford a few dollar donation. I already donated as much as I can, recently donated another $100 but can't do anymore till I actually make enough money to survive each month.

If people want it bad enough and it cost money I'm sure kids would ask their parents, compared to a $60 new game they have nothing to lose but a few bucks.

I'd love it if you could give me some programming advice (I'm trying to learn how to make some web applications, which is something my brother does for a living), but even that wouldn't be necessary. I have to go to work soon, but as soon as I can, I'll toss the money your way. And I have a few copies of a game I downloaded on Steam that I was planning on selling on eBay. I'll send that money your way as well, but I won't have it for a while.



EDIT: The Steam game is about $15 new, so it's not gonna be a whole lot. But it might be another $10 or so.

tom760 : I'm a lot like you I also get scraps in terms of development and I'm here to back you up cause development is a lot of work and at times goes under appreciated because some people don't realize how long it can take do make something.

I've done a lot of development for free in past and hell I've never even done any project worth more then $200 in my entire life and that is sad.

I will be willing to help set up a paypal gateway thing here on vizzed for you to receive payments for plugin. I'm thinking if people want the new plugin they must pay for it to support you.

legacyme3 : I'm just talking about the plugin, not all of vizzed in general. The plugin is something that needs donations or it wouldn't even exist here and now. I believe I was the first person to donate to vizzed flash bash and also the first to donate to vizzed rgr plugin when it first began. So people need to stop being selfish and pay at least $1 is that too much to ask for.

I've tried a donation thing on one of my sites but no one has ever donated. So when that happens you just have to force people to pay why give it to them for free if you are loosing everything in process. That is something I've learned past few years. If they can't take a risk of paying a few dollars then they probably do not deserve it, some people might but I know lot of people out there are very materialistic and buy all kinds of junk so they gotta have cash.

Not sure if David would approve of charging for new plugin downloads but if he accepts it I will set up the paypal gateway for you. We can think of other ideas to help generate some revenue cause you are really skilled to have the ability to make this plugin and you deserve a ton of credit and reward for it.
