When Midnight strikes,when all humans are sleeping in their coffins, a Shadow will aproach. But there are Heroes to face this Shadow and drive this Evil away. Those People have a certain power- it is called "Persona".

A first look on the P3-Cover says "I'm not telling to much, but you won't regret it" and thats the way it is.
P3 is an awesome RPG where no "Ultra Strong Mercinaries" or "Knowlegeble Mages" roam the land, no: the Story takes Place in a average japanese city and all main characters are pupils (exept the Dog, he cant go to school).

When you star the game, there will be nothing big catching your attention, The Intro is anime-style and the music is quite catching... until the clock shows 12 am - Midnight
All traffic Lights are off, the MP3-Player stopped working and puddles of blood are all over the street, but he dont notice.
but in the 3rd day, everything changes and the real action, the real Game begins.


As said, the Game is not like ordinary RPGs, you wont crawl through every dungeon in the World, why should you? School starts at 8:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm, you dont have time to travel, no! You can Choose when to visit "Tartarus" - The Tower of Demise which peaks out of the Skyline.

The Magic System is quite simple: you can store up to 6 Persona, each with individual Skills to learn and equip one of them. You can now use all Skills the Persona knows and in exchange the equipped Persona recieves EXP at the End of a battle.

The Battle System is quite Oldschool a turn-based system like in the first Parts of Final Fantasy.

The Most intresting Part in P3 is the School Day Part: by learning things in School or spending Times at special Places during afternoon and evening you will boost one of your three personal states "Academics", "Charm" and "Courage", which are required for new Social Links
You can also spend your afternoon with friends to establish or strenghten Social Links. So what are those "Social Links"? Those are the Bonds, which is strenghten your Soul and therefore your Persona.
Each Persona has an Arcana from Fool to Judgement (The Major Arcana from Tarot w/o the World) and every Social Link has one Arcana too. By strenghten a Social Link, a persona from the same arcana will recieve Bonus EXP when creating it by fusion (one way to get new persona, the other one is via Shuffle Time after Battles)

All in All P3 is a very complex Game which is really worth playing. The Soundtrack is awesome and he story keeps getting better and better. You can identyfy whith the main char, because hes a everyday average guy.

I have only played this game a little bit, but I agree it's really awesome.

Protip for people buying this: Get the FES version, it's the normal version with LOOOOOOOTS more.

Persona 3 PES has the following extras:

- a completly new Storyline, taking place ten Years before the main Story
- different Persona
- Video Games in the "Game Panic" Arcade to boost your stats
- a "Clothing system" means: You'll see which armor and weapon you carry in battle (an example: there is an Armor "Maids Uniform". When anyone has this equipped, he runs through Tartarus in a Maids Uniform. available vor quite some Armors)
(I think you can also Date Elizabeth, the Elevator attendant in Velvet Room)

The freeness of being able to go into to Tarturus or not can really mess you up as it's hard to figure out exactly where you should be. That's why I'm stuck where I am and I'm trying to figure out a way around it without going back a week.

i had the following strategy:
Go to tartarus the day after you can enter a new passage. Sleep the night before to aquire "Great" condition. (and all of your members should be "good" to.
stick into the tower until
1. any of your members become tired or
2. you reach the barricade
fight as much as possible but go up when you find the stairs!

stick to a special Team (dont change your teammates all the time. Best is Yukari (pierce), Akihiko (Strike) and Junpei (Slash). 2 healer, 1 Buffer and Junpei got slash attacks)

You yourself should stick to knuckels (Strike, Akihikos weapons) because they have the best reloading time when aquire first hits.

when leaving Tartarus and you want to go again, wait until

Enter Monad (The big door on 1st floor) only when
Fuuka got the skill "Escape Route" (Immediate escape) and
try to pick out enemys with known weakness! (Flee, when you dont know them! They are all Lv 90+)
SAVE before going in there!
