If anyone has a copy of these games (That work) and would be willing to part with them id be willing to pay 5000 Viz per game or a select few PS2 or Xbox 360 games.

5000 Viz isn't nearly enough. You've been away a while, so let me fill you in.

Viz is absolutely worthless.

You could offer 30,000 viz, and still not find an offer.

What I'm saying is, don't expect anyone to be stupid enough to part with those games for such a low price.

legacyme3 : To be honest, I hate when you go around telling people Viz is worthless, you by you saying that it makes people think it's worthless. You think it's worthless because you have so much and nothing left to buy with it. Others with barely any Viz might view it as more valuable than you, especially someone who barely has enough to play a few RGR games when they'd like to have enough to play many RGR games. I do agree though that 5000 Viz is way to low for the games Margoth wants, 25,000-100,000 Viz for each of these games would be more fair.

In my opinions, the games here should really cost more.

You get 100 Viz alone for just coming to the site. That's enough to play multiple new games.

What if every game cost 100 viz?

They'd get to play 1 new game every day, for a total of 365 new games just for visiting every day.

I just think it's ridiculous how easy it can be to get viz, even as a regular member.

legacyme3 : Well the cost depends on the system. GBA games cost around 30 Viz, N64 I think 40 Viz. If and when I add CD systems, they'd cost 1000-5000 Viz. Actually some of the GBA and N64 games are cheap right now, they're suppose to be based on size, basically the bigger, the more Viz. Since the files are no longer hosted on vizzed.com but rather on a different server, it currently doesn't detect the file size so all the games are just a flat price based on system. Once that's fixed though, various games will be more expensive with the most expensive, probably some N64 games would be near 100 Viz.

Viz is like any other currency you'd see on any other site or forum, except I personally view Viz as having more value than a lot of those sites since you can do more with it and sometimes people are willing to sell and buy stuff with it in the marketplace.

I don't think it's that ridiculously easy to get. You gotta figure, the higher your powerlevel, the more Viz you make. You have one of the highest powerlevels so you're making more per a Viz, on top of that, your posts are bigger than most users so you're also making more Viz based on the size of your posts. Based on your powerlevel alone, you're making 3 times more Viz than the average user (maybe I should make adjustments to that). Margoth has been here nearly 2 years and only has around 12,000 Viz.

I also don't want to charge too much Viz for games that users can find and play on other sites because all they have to do is leave vizzed once they run out of Viz and go play on another site. I really only want to charge a lot of Viz for games that no other site has, which includes GBA, N64, future CD systems and a few others.

I'll agree that it's worth more than currency on other sites, because that's definitely true. There is more you can do with it, although after a time you end up with a ton of it, and nothing to do with it.

I am aware higher powerlevels get more viz, but I do take note at people who are trusted members as well, and a lot of them have high amounts of Viz. (I also think Margoth was banned at some point, so his Viz may be lower than it once was)

Another solution would be to find something more valuable to do with Viz, as right now, all people can buy is games (and once you have 10,000, you can pretty much play every game you've ever wanted) layouts (which only posters find useful) and items for the battle arena (which for obvious reasons have no real use yet.)

I suppose they could buy the accessories like the Vmachine, etc, but I always felt that it was pointless to buy those personally, since the games won't appear as "bought" on the profile. And I like keeping games on there since viewing the last 100 games played only allow me to see 100 games. And that is if I played 100 different games. If I played the same game 20 times, I'd see it there 20 times, which is of no use to me.

Maybe make it so you can pay for trusted status, instead of relying on TP, which is basically popularity points? It would have to be a high cost, since we still don't want just ANYONE getting in there. But maybe having them pay for it (with viz) would be a fair compromise? It would also hit two birds with one stone, as it would give Viz more use, as well as finally getting rid of/fixing the TP system (which I know you say you plan to fix at some point)

legacyme3 : There's other things Viz can be used for as well. Buying a forum, buying stuff from users in the marketplace, favors, to use the chat room, to make a thread, and a few others. I of course want to add more ways to spend it in the future so that it has more of a purpose but I think there's a lot right now. As for the items, they don't have much of a purpose but people go nuts over items on other sites that have no purpose either. We use to have competitions that involved the stats from the items but we haven't had anything like that in years.

We could allow users to either buy a trusted member position or an elite position, both would work.

For my two cents, the only thing that would really make Viz worth anything would be to disallow purchasing games, instead having users pay for games each time they play. Maybe only allowing purchasing games for an extremely high amount of Viz, say maybe 5000-10,000 Viz depending on the game. It also might be worth looking into having Get-Your-ROM utilizing Viz to allow one-day VIP passes.

Edit: Of course linking the two sites may open up security risks, so it might be better to buy a promo code or something that can be put into GYR

legacyme3 : I don't think I've ever been banned, and I have 12k Viz it's not much but its enough to get me by playing the games I want to play, it could be higher, but since the last time I flipped out and lost my Trusted status I've tried to stay away from the forum for fear of making myself look stupid, I realize it wasn't enough Viz and I shouldn't have even suggested that in the first place, I should have just said the PS2 games. My apologies to anyone who though I was trying to low ball them.

legacyme3 : I'd probably do 50,000 Viz. Actually it depends. If I made it so you could donate $25 than I'd make it so you could also buy it with Viz using 50,000. However, if I decided that you couldn't donate to get it and that you'd have to buy it with viz, than I'd be thinking 25,000 Viz so that way if a person really wanted it but didn't have the Viz, they could donate, get 25,000 Viz from their donation and than buy it with Viz. Of course it being Trusted or Elite could also determine the Viz amount.

Hear me out here, but I think of it like this.

If you make the cost 50,000, over 150 people would qualify. Some of these people looking at the list are completely undeserving of a status as such.

I don't think one should be able to buy elite status with Viz... trusted on the other hand is a little more open to debate, simply because it would allow us to realistically rework the trusted system on site.

I have no problem with allowing people to buy into elite status with cash (I'm thinking 50 dollars personally, that seems like a fairer threshold. If you follow the logic any staff who was 3 months tenured, they did about 50 dollars worth of work, [15 dollars a month isn't unfair to assume for most staff])

Ok so maybe something like this.

Ok so depending on which powerlevel has access to special RGR features, here's how much Viz and cash it'd cost to buy into that power level:

Elite:
$50 or 100,000 Viz

Trusted:
$25 or 50,000 Viz

Of course we'd have to make it harder to become a trusted member, maybe by increasing the points again or something. It'd be a temporary solution until I can redo the entire feature and I honestly don't know when I'd have time to do that, I'm really hoping this year though.

As for making it harder to become a trusted member... why not just go to a system where only staff would be responsible for giving and taking away TP?

Not only would we get rid of fights where a ton of trusteds gang up to untrust someone, but we'd also be effectively putting more control back in the staff's hands. I think the most trustworthy people and least likely to abuse the TP system would be the staff.

legacyme3 : That's a possibility, I don't think that'd require a lot of time to do. I could also make it so non staff can give out even less points than what they currently can give out. It'd be a temp solution though until the system is remade. Based on how many staff have slacked in the past, I'm not sure how many staff would ever go out and give users trust points which would kill the position since not many people would ever become trusted. The powerlevel than would have less members than the elite powerlevel.

And that would be the maximum. Not only would it make it so the most popular members have the most votes, but it would also lower the amount of points a person can conceivably receive.
