I guess the personality? This allows it to be like ME being inside the game. I don't know why, but I find that an important part of the game. Another part is to have a gameplay that matches the player's style.

The most important thing for me in an online game is probably its level of addictiveness. If it doesn't want to make me keep playing, it's not worth playing to me.

The second thing that comes to mind is content. Online games have to have a good amount of content to back up it being addicting.
