A teen I know asked what the difference was between agnostic and nihilist. All I could do was answer no idea so I thought it would be an ideal question to ask on here. I never heard of a nihilist before in my life I have heard of a agnostic before since I remember years ago in high school someone commented I should be an atheist or a agnostic due to my current views of the world and life I guess . Anyways what is the difference and is there any others similar to them? And could someone explain them in depth but in as many simple words as possible? The dudes only in ninth grade and he's not what I call a brain child (joke I made along time ago about Asians all be so smart that the mate with there brains and not with there bodies ((I was in 7th grade so I wasnt fully aware how semi racist it sounded  lol but I do now)))

Agnostic beliefs are about a God, Nihilist about our purpose, so there is no contradiction there, like pi0x said. And think, if someone tells you they don't believe in a meaning of life, you could guess there's a significant chance they either don't believe, or are unsure of believing, in a god.
