What I am asking is the console that came out that you really wanted, but never got. Or didn't want, but didn't get. Just that you didn't have it as it became famous.

I didn't get the SP when it did become popular and just stuck with the GBA for the longest while.

What console didn't you own as a kid?

I remember really wanting a Nintendo 64 and an Xbox. I never got them. I was so bummed thinking about them.

Oh, didn't!

I didn't own a lot of stuff, like the NES or the SNES. I owned pretty much everything else that was hot around when I was born.

This is a thread talking about what threads that you DIDN'T own.

I'm pretty sure the other thread is talking about the ones that you do own. If I am wrong, sorry for the dupe.

I didn't have a SNES or NES, this is by choice because I'm NOT a Nintendo fan...in terms of the original NES consoles. I remember having a Sega Genesis (the very first console I owned and played) a Game Boy, Game Gear, N64, and a Playstation. If I did well in school and received good grades (which I did) any console I wanted my mother would buy!

As a kid, growing up, I didn't really have a ton of games that others had,. In fact, the most I had was a Play Station 2, a Nintendo Entertainment System and a Sega Genesis. There were definitely a lot of game systems that I had wish for that I had never received, some that I had to wait till I was a lot older to be able to receive and all. I actually have quite the post and list for you, if you'd like to spare some time to read.
SEGA DreamCast - This was probably the number one system that I wanted while growing up that I was never actually able to truly purchase at all. There were definitely a lovely selection of games out for this system that I would have loved, including Sonic Adventure 1, Sonic Adventure 2, Jet Set Radio (Or whatever it's actual name is), and so much more. I believe the number one reason why I wanted it so bad was because I played it at a friends house and was just thrilled by the lovely colors and features this game system gave to you.
Nintendo 64 - moving onto the next video game system that I wasn't at the privilege of owning growing up was the Nintendo 64. This system was probably the one system I wanted more than anything in the whole wide world. Even more than that Sega Dream Cast at the time. All of my friend had it, and they all had games such as the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, Super Mario 64, and Pokemon Snap. I even got to play Donkey Kong 64 which I found to be surprisingly well done for this game, despite it being a bit of a step back and draw down from the Donkey Kong Country series (But we'll get to the SNES next). The controller was one of the things about the system I never really like at all, being extremely complicated to use, but I still loved this system no matter what, and I still wish to this day that I would have been able to get this one.
Super Nintendo Entertainment System - During its reign, this was in a heated combat with the Sega Genesis. Yet I still was able to try out both, owning the Genesis instead, and I must say that I liked it a lot. While I preferred the Sega Genesis' realistic type of art style, I did love the cartoony style that they put together for the SNES. Some of the games I loved trying out with friends were Kirby Super Star, Super Mario World and the Donkey Kong Series. And to be honest, the Donkey Kong Country games were probably my favorite out of the bunch there, since I decided to buy that before the other two on my wii.
And those are pretty much all the systems I wish I had as a kid.

There's a lot (in my opinion) that I didn't get. For one, I always wanted to get the PSP.It made me wonder what it'd be like to play some of those games like Kingdom Hearts. I always thought that those games looked so interesting. It didn't help when all my friends constantly bragged about it in elementary school.

Thus, I had to stick with the Gameboy SP. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the system. It allowed me to play pokemon (which I've been a fan or since I was practically born). It kinda enhanced my reading ability. After all, it's quite difficult to get through that kind of game without being able to read.

Another game that I always wanted were the Playstation Consoles. The reason was kinda the same as for the PSP. More people had those then the gamecube when they were released.

It wasn't until I was in the 6th grade that I got my first sony system (the ps3). Within a year later, I received both the 360 and the Kinect sensor. I don't use the Xbox all that much now, because the only reason I use the 360 is for exercise.

I never had a wishlist for consoles, as during that era in my past the Super Nintendo was reigning champion for consoles. I was into that and Sega Saturn. Those two fulfilled my entertainment needs and I never really desired anything else, even though I spent a crap-ton of time on one of my best friend's N64 playing Smash Bros. with him. By the time the PS2 came out I'd already been out of high school and had a job, so I could afford anything from then on for myself.

oOKyleOo : Actually, at least one other person who posted here said they did't have those systems

Anyway, I never had the old Sega Systems (Genesis and Game Gear). I didn't get a Super Nintendo until the halfway point of it's production lifetime. But that still meant I had it for quite a few years before they stopped making games. I never had a PS1. I actually never had a PS2 until about 2 1/2 years ago because I really wanted to play Kingdom Hearts. I only payed like $30 for the whole system . I also never had a Game Boy Advanced until about 3 years ago, way after it was no longer in circulation. I also don't own a PS3, DS, or 3DS. But none of that matters. I did and still own the Dreamcast, and that system is still king to me.

I don't ever remember having an Atari, or anything like a Neo Geo. We had the major classics though like the Nes, Sega Genesis, Ps1, N64, Game cube, GBC/GBA and for a while I had a PSP. I really want a Ps3 though!

Last gen had what I really wanted. Before that, I was happy with the few games I had, but I still haven't gotten a Gamecube or PS2. I did finally get an XBox, but not until recently. So basically I had to skip from PSx to Wii, and am still disappointed I missed out on a whole generation of games

As a kid ( I mean , like ,8 years old ) I wanted a playstation2 . But I never got it , my parents always told me : Cédric , don't you think you own enough console like that ( which now I consider was true ) ? I always replied but I'm tired of my gamecube and my XboX!!! I never got it , but now , I know that it was for my own good  , because now nobody has a better shape than I have in secondary 3 . Thanks mom and dad for such a good present it was to refrain me from a new console...

Awwwwww that sucks that you didn't get a PlayStation 2, it really had a lot of game choices that are still even popular today, and they still make very selected few game now, you should probably try and look into getting one now since your probably able to and there really cheap now, I'm actually considering getting one again to play the many games that came with it.
