In my opinion it has to be Metal Gear Solid, These games have a mix of stealth and movie-like sequences
but the main feature of a metal gear/ metal gear solid game is the story leaving you speechless at the end as it completely shifts and you are left wondering WTF is going on here.

also the game play is awesome just beating one of them can be tricky for new players and if you feel like a pro there is a extreme difficulty were you have to complete the game with out being seen.

I think hideo kojima has made one of the most prestigious gaming sagas of all time topping that of Mario and Zelda

Although I do love the Metal Gear Series, I'm not sure I could put it as my favorite game series of all Time. There are so many that I've loved over the years. Mega Man. Metroid, Zelda, Grand Theft Auto, Mario, Final Fantasy, Mass Effect....The list really could go on and on for me.

Theres a lot of sagas that come to mind but my all time fav would have to be Assassin's Creed.  The atmosphere, graphics, the story telling and the choice to take your own path in 90 of the missions is awesome.  Honourable mention would have to be Tony Hawks... 1-THUG lol

Because they focus on multiple characters, Marines (Halo Wars), A team of elite Spartans with outdated armor (Halo Reach), An ODST that physically feels human while emotionally feels robotic (Halo ODST) and a Spartan that has more luck than a rabbit and lets his armor talk (Halo 1-and beyond)

I would have to say that my favorite series is the Tales series. I love RPG's and these games seem to come up with the best plots and characters. I also love that these games have dozens of side-quests so it takes me a while to complete the games a hundred percent. Changing costumes and playing with different characters, both in and out of battles, are pluses too.
