I think I was around 10 years old when I got a Gameboy Advance SP. It was a pretty new game, fresh off the shelves as well. I chose it out of the store after hearing about a new system. This is during my video game run spree.

Man... that takes me back. I was about 6 when I got my first handheld, a nice GBA. Ironically enough, the games I played at first were things like the Powerpuff Girls and Megaman, but now I either have not found a game of them that I like (Megaman) or cannot stand the series itself (Powerpuff). A year later, everything turned into Pokémon, and eleven years after that, I have almost all of the Pokémon up to the Unova region memorized and have played Harvest Moon much longer than I ever spent on all the other game series I have played combined.

Which is where the question comes in of "Do you have a life?"

We didn't have a lot of money when I was growing up so I didn't get my own handheld until I was around 15 maybe. It was a clear Gamboy Pocket & my first game was Pokemon Red. When the LCD screen finally 'leaked'(no thanks to me), I ended up getting a lime green GBC. That one was my favorite.

I was 10 when I got my first handheld system: a red Nintendo DS. Not "lite" or DSi or anything like that, just a regular DS. The games that came with it were Super Mario 64 DS and Mario Kart DS. It's been almost 7 years and it still works just as well as when I first got it.

 I guess that depends on what ya would could consider a hand-held. I used to get a lot of those little cheap green and black numbers as a kid, but I think I was about 7 or so when I got my first Game Boy or Game Gear. I honestly can't recall.
