First off: great site. I really appreciate the effort that is put to keep out the flamers to maximize respect and decency.

I've always been a retro guy in every domains of my being, music (progressive music from the 70's), books (Boris Vian, Frank Herbert...), cinema (Fellini, Jodorovsky...), but especially video games! Vintage games are the best. Some people only interpret it as nostalgia, but to me, it is really an artistic calling for pixels and awesome MIDI music. I really believe old games tend to develop more the imagination, since minimal graphics are only evoked through symbolism. This forces your brain to make a huge work of fiction to connect the dots and feel... connected! My conception of the world changed when I saw Celes throwing herself off the cliff after the end of the world when I was nine years old... This was, hands down, the most pleasant traumatism from my childhood! ^.^ In my heart, Celes's moment surpasses even Aeris's!

Nowadays, my most unlimited source of pleasures is hidden in the depths of the SaGa series, all of them. Those nasty invisible counters have so much mysteries around them that even and old monkey like me has a hard time, if not total humiliation!!! And the casts of characters are outerworldly absurd sometimes... And their absurdity can turn incredibly epic too!!! (The sacrifice of the Snowman, against the Evil fire God, that happens when all your party members are wiped out is one great moment in one's life)

I tried to play Skyrim, but I ended up with Daggerfall. So I think I'm at the good place. 

It was my quest for Albert Odyssey: Legends of Eldean (which seems kind of rare), that send me here. And what a good place to be!

I'll be really happy to hear other member's most powerful old school RPG moments!

Welcome to Vizzed! Great intro post. I always appreciate it when people go above and beyond to tell us a little bit about themselves.

I tend to prefer "Retro" games over current ones as well. Although I play current Gen games, when I'm bored or just down, I always revert back to Retro games to cheer myself up. I just feel like there was more thought and love put into the (Good) classic games of old. Nowadays games have great graphics and deep storylines(most of the time) but they feel empty. Like a machine. Plus nowadays it's hard for a game to really "Wow" me since I feel like most games now are things I have seen done a million times before. It seems as if every game is some sort of shooter whether it be FPS or 3rd person.

laian : I took a peek to your Daggerfall playthrough and had a REEAALLL big laugh when I heard you scream at rats (DIE! DIE! DIE! ... YOU'RE DEAD!) and making random noises to cover your backtracking periods... LOLL! This remembered me of all those times I had too much stuff to carry so I had to run pointlessly from one point to another, comboing cigarettes as only option to stay sane. What an awesome game! Really, I felt insulted when I played Skyrim. This don't really look like a Elder Scroll anymore with all those quest markers. A real Elder Scrolls must be FILLED with unintelligible or simply erroneous indications. As much as I can't bear it when I realize that I've been mislead FOR HOURS by ambiguous explanations from NPC, It was the first thing I missed in Oblivion and Skyrim.

You know, there are currently 64 episodes with other random stuff and stupid jokes (if you want to have fun with the NPCs and their informations for example ) and there will be more I think because it's Daggerfall and it's "Adventure, ho!" ^^. Glad to hear you enjoy this first episode and how I suffer horribly at the beginning and thanks for watching

laian : I watched episode 9. At one point, you took precautions entering a small room that was SO obviously guarded, and there you are: before you an empty room but it's the panic, you KNOW there is somewhere there the room was so small!!! This sun of a gun was behind the door and nailed you to your very last millimeter I was sure you were dead. You sounded like you thought you were too. Do you already think about your future playthrought? Did you had to make a choice between other games you love & Daggerfall?

1) I always plan the next Let's Play, by the way the next one is a request from one of my subscribers and it's a RPG ^^
2) Honestly no, I wanted to do a request after Hexen: Beyond Heretic and that was the only one so I didn't have any choice
