I chose my avatar because it is my Own Creation aka OC called Tyrian Delirium, I use that specific picture because it shows the good and evil side of my personality. 

Plus chat is often either a pleasant or an annoying experience as well so it can be taken like that as well. 

Though honestly i am in the progress of getting a new avatar... Hopefully it turns out well

I'm a huge fan of this game called Battleblock Theater-- hence my title, profile picture, and layout. The game was made by The Behemoth, who are the creators of Castle Crashers, and Alien Hominid. The character as my avatar is Hatty Hattington, though this particular Hatty is different from the one in game. In fact, this Hatty isn't even canon! He's from an AU (alternate universe) I made up. Heck, I even made a whole story about it! And that's why I chose him as my chat avatar.

I use Tails from Sonic in chat and in forms. I use Tails because it shows my intelligence (I skipped 2nd grade and in a high school math class in 7th grade) and the fact I would like to fly.
