My fav category of video games is adventure games, not item finding games, but more so puzzle solving and point and click games.  There are several decent commercially known ones like Runaway, Sherlock Holmes, Sam and max etc.. but can you's name me some good lesser-known titles?  or indi titles?  can be flash or full games.

Personally when I want to play a good nostalgic Point and Click game I break out Shadowgate, or Deja Vu for the NES

I'm not quite sure of any adventure games that's specifically point and click or puzzle as far as indie titles...

Commercially, you've probably heard of the Layton series as well as Phoenix Wright (or otherwise the Ace Attorney series) as commercially done. Both me and a friend did a run of those for a couple of weeks and they're definitely fun for a first try. I recommend them.

However, if you ARE interested in one that's flash and online, there's the Portal remake online that's worth a shot, I thought it was creative for a different point of view.

There's a few old PC ones that are really good point'n clicks.
Beneath a Steel Sky was recommended to me by a friend on gog (which, btw, have a massive amount of deals and craptons of free games you can get just by signing up.)

For an indie adventure/point'n click, I high recommend Machinarium (which i have a free download link to, PM me if you're interested about that) and Braid, which is also available on PSN/XBX and i have another DL link for.

Hope this helps.

It may sound dumb, but it is actually too addicting. Here's a link to somebody playing it and his reactions too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2d2B0wQwqZU
