Ah... see at the bottom of the game with the "eject / insert" and "reset" and so on so forth buttons? Once the "Insert side B" message comes in, hit the "eject / insert" button. From there hit the "switch" button and then back to "eject / insert". That'll let you proceed with the game long as you remember this.
