that's the only suicide drawing i've ever done, but usually my art is violent, but i'm not sure of the restrictions concerning violence on this forum so i haven't draw any thing too gross lately, but i figure i'll give it a shot and if it's not acceptable i'll remove it

the best I can do is little stick men. well, maybe not the absolute best but I'm pretty bad at drawing. I get mocked while playing pictionary for how bad I am.

I envy the artistic talent in this thread.

._. Now I'm going to have to post a pen doodle because your quickie is very well done. I keep having to scroll back down while typing this post to get another look at the detail. The five minute you put up afterwards feels awkward only in one aspect really, and that is in the extended arm; it seems like the hand should be just a little bigger to convey that it's closer to the viewer, but for all I know this could be the ridiculous amount of local anesthetic in my head talking. Oh man.

I can see what you mean about the index finger on the suicide sketch; that was the first thing that stuck out to me and it's because it looks almost like it's a little too bendy and is sitting too close to the middle finger. I'm not sure how to explain what the blood looks like it's doing, but what comes to mind is the consistency of gloppy glue. o.o It looks fine, otherwise. n_n I can hardly draw hands worth a poop.

just give it a shot and post it cause in the beginning all you need to realize is that when you just start out that(unless you are a savant) the drawings are gonna be bad, but you also want to learn as much as possible so post and see if you can find some useful advice

thanks for the compliments and with the 5 min sketch i just didn't bother fixing the hand cause it's just supposed to be a reference for a later drawing and yeah i just think the suicide drawing blows

now i can't come up with anything new for now so i'm posting more old drawings from around '07 and it think i've come pretty far since then

first a defiled corpse hanging from hooks!
(i cross hatched the crap out of it, cause i remember being bored in class)

i should be posting some new stuff soon and what kind of companies you talkin'? cause the comics industry is waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy over crowded with hopefuls, now iBOCK3 mentioned game companies but there aren't many in the area but i'm going to start sending portfolios as soon as i make a halfway decent one but im starting to think i may need to cave and take some art classes

any advice on where to start is welcome

i drew this real quick yesterday of a guy getting his head ripped off



this is the first drawing i've done of The Mask, the bottom teeth came out messed up cause i drew too many and they were too long, i did it a couple of weeks ago

and i'm getting a scanner on monday so the images will be of a better quality

Yay, scanner! 8D The beheading looks good; my only real issue is that the eyebrows look like they've been detached and slid out of place on his face. The lower teeth on The Mask honestly suit to the edginess that I remember of his character, so had you not pointed that out, I would never have known. And the face the little anime guy is making makes me giggle. :3

I sees a person in the doorway further back on the crosshatched picture. Said crosshatching is nigh dizzying. Also, Wingsies. : D

yeah, i did the eyebrows like that to just exaggerate the surprise but they do look really weird.when i finished the mask drawing i took a look in my copy of the graphic novel and saw that all of his teeth were the same size, but i like the way my version came out .and should i draw more in the anime style?

I think it'd be interesting to see what else you do in the anime style. *nod* I also did not notice the leashed person, and yes, wingsies. On the beastie-critter in the picture page below the crosshatchings. I also like the way Ironman came out, even if it was botched. <.<

thanks i'll probably do something in anime style soon and that leashed guy is really obscure, the blur doesn't help either.and i don't like the ironman cause i did a much better one that i gave away and haven't done one since

Aw. D: I did that with one of my colored works once. I have a scan of it, but my scanner is so old that the black got a bit messed up, and I never thought to try using my mom's before giving the picture to my last science teacher. ._. Looking back again on the crosshatched picture, I can just make out the leashed feller in the door, but I really didn't notice him until you mentioned he was there.

i also gave away all of the best drawings i did in school to all of my friends before i graduated and looking back it sucks cause i have no record of ever doing them and i never really intended on putting those guys back there but i added them for kicks

I love doing that when I have the time and motivation for it. I also developed the habit of, way back in middle school, always scanning everything and giving away copies. n_n I was a lazy thing. But I was also lucky enough to have a scanner that works. ._.
