im completely self taught(except for some critisism from my high school art teachers) and ive always thought about trying to become a character concept artist for a gaming company cause it combines my two favorite things gaming and art

but to be honest i dont know where to start

You draw great pictures, dude. What you need to learn is that art teachers cannot grade what you draw, and their opinions don't mean a damn thing. In fact, most art teachers discourage the talented students they have so there's less competition in their way. It scares them when a student surpasses skills of their own so in a passive-aggressive way, they want to destroy your self-confidence.
