I haven't done much posting since I joined a couple of weeks ago, so I wanted to tell people more about myself.

I'm 18 years old, I live in Canada(for those who didn't read my newbie thread), my birthday is March 20th, I have not graduated from high school yet so don't ask, I have a mild form of Autism that impairs my ability to socialise with others and my ability to see the "grey" in between, in other words I suck at opinionated questions, so subjects like English and Religion I'm not very good at, but I'm very good at Mathematics, Science, and any other subjects similar to those. Although I'm not so good at English, I'm a fairly good speller.

Normally, I keep things brief, but since this is about me, I got carried away with the details.

But, everything can't be about me, so if you want to tell me anything about yourself, go ahead, I won't mind.

You didn't get carried away at all. Don't worry about making large posts on here, no one will get upset.

Anyway, I'm a big fan of math and science classes as well. Never enjoyed the English or religion classes that I was required to take. But I can certainly feel your pain in regards to those subjects.

Hello! You sound like the opposite of me lol. I'm great at seeing grey, it's the black and white that gives me trouble. However, I do like math, it just doesn't like me very much lol

I'd love to keep reading what you have to say. Don't worry about it being too long.

Hello, SilverClaw.

I am Argus.

I'm very good at English! It is easily my best subject, at least, until I have to write an essay.

Math, however, is where I fall completely and absolutely flat on my face. If someone asks me 8+5, I have to count on my fingers. God forbid if I need to do physics; formula's confuse me even more. I wish I was good at math, but years and years of work and effort, it's not getting any easier. Words just come to me so much easier.

And Math has a lot more career potential than English. So in a lot of ways, you're better off.

So enjoy life as it is! It gets easier as time goes on, so don't sweat the small stuff! =D

I can completely relate with you, SilverClaw. I am not ashamed to tell others I have Aspberger's Syndrome which is a high-functioning form of Autism. Because of this I have a little bit of difficulty, every now and then, socializing. Most of the time my problems are reading body language, and I tend to take statements as fact when I hear them --it is all black and white to me.

English was my weak point in high school, but I thank God for everything I went through when I took English Composition II last college semester; it was a personal struggle worrying about every single detail in my work but I never thought I could have so much fun in class. Math is definitely my strong point, and I hope Chemistry will be a similar experience.

So let me ask you this, because it appears you and I have a lot in common, is it only Autism that you have or do you have something more specific like Aspberger's? And just in case you want to talk one-on-one with someone who has a similar background, do not be afraid to send me a private message here.

AuraBlaze : Asperger's is the form of autism I have to tell the truth, also the doctors here couldn't figure that out until I was in the 8th grade, up until then they thought I had ADD or PDD, I even think they said ADHD too, also I am a genius(they made me take a IQ test).  I am also a great reader, weird huh?  Since grade 10, I was forced into Locally Developed English, so I'll be going back for another year to at least get College level English credits.(by the way: you spelled Asperger's wrong)

Argus Swift : I know who you are. You posted on my newbie thread the other week, and in it I said I live in Ontario, but I live in small town that's maybe a 1-2 hour drive to Barrie. I know that Math has more potential than English, but if you can't write properly, you can't get all the good careers, you get what I'm trying to say? Also I have trouble focusing on things I don't really like to do.

Eddy88 : Well I'm in grade 12, your only in grade 9(unless you were pushed ahead due to you being super smart).  I have two sisters, a brother, two dogs , and a cat.(It gets kind of crazy around here) I also have a step sister in British Columbia(she recently had a little baby girl) who also happens to be my godmother.

NotJon : Well I'm sure we will be great friends then(you know "Opposites attract" and all that).

I did not spell it right? *performs a Google search* ... Oh well. I can tell you that when I last met my psychologist in August (had not seen him for like 10 years before this) he said that I probably have a little case of ADHD as well, so I can understand why the doctors may have thought you had that.

At least when you finish Locally Developed English you will be at the college level. I was not at that level when I started college. Instead of taking a 101 class, I started below in an 051 class --not sure if the numbers mean anything to you.

Oh you have Autism? My brother is actually autistic as well, but his autism is probably much worse. He is 11 and still can't talk, so its a serious disorder.

I am Pacman, I am not very good with english either, religion isn't my best subject, so you aren't alone on the subject. I am American and still in school. If you ever want to talk with somebody, I can talk anytime.

pacman1755 : Your brother's autism is worse, actually.  I can talk, I just prefer not to.

AuraBlaze : They had also put me on Ritalin, but it only made it harder for me to focus in elementary school.

p.s.: I went to like 4-5 different elementary schools when I was young, two of which where French schools(Oui oui! :3 ha ha ha).
p.p.s.: One of the schools I went to was to deal with my "anger management" issues, which are under control now.

Our experiences just seem to become more and more alike. When I was in elementary I was put on Ritalin to help me focus, but it only made me tired throughout the day so my mom took me off of it relatively quickly. Never had to take anything until about a year into my college studies. Currently, I on Vyvanse which is similar to the Adderall. I do not like the idea of having to take a bunch of chemicals I do not know about, but I do need it right now.

How was it trying to adjust to each school you when to?

AuraBlaze : Until I stopped changing schools, I wasn't in any of the schools for very long, about a year or so. I was in my first school until the first grade, then I went to another school for only a year because my mom didn't want to drive me and my siblings to and from the school(It was far away from where I live, and the school board didn't let us ride a bus), then I went to another school for a couple of years, then got moved to a different school to deal with my "anger management" issues, after which I went back to the third school until I graduated from elementary school in 2008(those were some crazy times). Another thing about is I have a severe bee sting allergy that I need an Epi-pen for(if I didn't have the Epi-pen, I would die in moments of being stung).

*Edit for my intro post: I am only 17 years old, but will be 18 in March.
