Tell me the word or phrase in this puzzle and I will grant you 20,000 viz, but this time is different. It's harder than before, plus there might be a red herring in there or not. No clues for now....Here you go, have fun.....I'll be waiting....*hides in the shadows*

Each time there was a different number. There was 20, 8, 9 and 19. I
rotated my head, there was a 9. I turned my head and saw different
kinds of numbers. A 19, a 1, 18, 5, 4 and 8 appeared. I recorded them.
Is this a code? 5, 18, 18. There was a 9, 14 and 7. Then something
peculiar happened. The square the numbers appeared on was blank.


Well, that paragraph has the code in it, so get cracking!



Edit: The contest for this puzzle is over, the answer was taking the first letter of every time (erkip), and then applying a ceasur cipher of four to get the word "angel". Keep this answer in mind. Someone70 : I couldn't make it too easy, but there is another answer that isn't a red herring. It's very well hidden, and I doubt many will find it. Give it a little time, and if you are still stuck, I might give a clue.

I don't entirely understand what you want to be found from this paragraph. As far as the patterns that arise from repeats in numbers are 18, 3 times and the phrase there was a 9, twice. The number 9 appeared 5 times (counting its appearance in 19.)

From what little knowledge I have of this, seeing as there were numbers and then it was blank, I'd say the phrase is "There was"

Now I feel like I need the answer because it's interesting enough to want to know what in the world you're talking about, but I can't find any patterns or anything. For reasons I'd have trouble explaining, is the answer "63 turns?" 

I've been turning this around in my head for the past couple days, but I just can't find a suitable pattern...

I think it's time for a clue. The answer is in fact double encrypted. Without the second encryption, the first one would be amazingly easy to spot in plain view, yet this second encryption makes it so well hidden that it might be in the last place you would look.
And maybe your getting too caught up in numbers, take a step back and you might be one step closer.

Wow! Now this is going to be hard.... Im going to really have to think on this. Well give me some time and i might be able to crack it. But really Nice job on the puzzles!

It's kind of odd to me to say this but it look like a Password seen in the old mega man series on the nes.Plus don't we need to sketch this all out on another screen or a paper here?

sonicmcmuffin : I don't think it has anything to do with the cards. I think that was just the way he was introducing the new word problem.

That said, I think the part where he says each time there is a different number. I'm pretty sure that has something to do with which numbers you should pay attention to. But I can't find anything that makes sense that way.

I wasn't going to help anyone out because I'm selfish like that, but I guess I'll throw in something I've been thinking about.

The message is likely not hidden in the numbers. My first answer was based off of the numbers, but all it spelled out was red herring. So the message might lie elsewhere, somewhere deeper.

I could be totally wrong, of course, but this is what I figure to be the most plausible.
