Hello there! I am SilverHawk, and I'm an accomplished retro gamer/game collector from Brazil. I heard about Vizzed on the Sonic Retro Message Board, and I followed the link to the RGR. And when I saw all of the supported systems, I was indeed amazed. So, I decided to register, and soon I discovered Vizz's forum/social site structure. This motivated me to register even MORE than before, and now, here am I, writing this.

Now for my intentions: As my username says, I'm also a hardcore shmup/run 'n gun fan, with my favorite developer being Treasure, the guys behind impressive, obscure, low - selling, pricey, system - pushing masterpieces such as Gunstar Heroes. I am here almost only for the TurboGrafx/PC - Engine and MSX emulations, as these are mostly undocumented and hard to emulate systems that are extremely rich on shmups, and really amazing machines in general

I love any and all kinds of shmups and run 'n guns, but specially attractive and interesting to me are not - so - well - known but amazing, brilliant, and HARD franchises such as Tecnosoft's Thunder Force series for the X1, Genesis, PS1 and PS2 systems.

I really hope that Vizzed will tottaly satiate my hardcore gaming needs, unlike VirtualNES, that, while being a great site, can't emulate properly many games, and has some hidden gems undocumented, mostly Japan - exclusive games, which  really interests me.

Well, my presentation is complete, and now I'm going play me some MSX Gradius 2 .

Goodbye then, and until someday... somewhere...

Hey there SilverHawlk, I can already tell you're going to do just fine here. In fact, let me summon someone who will agree with your choice of games almost to the T.

Argus Swift : You've got a new best friend here.

Anyway, welcome to the forums! You've already answered most of the questions people ask new users so I'll keep this short and just say hi. If you need any help or have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Now, since you've got me thinking about Treasure and shmups, I think I'm gonna go play some Ikaruga...

Lazlo Falconi : You weren't wrong.

Hey there, Silverhawk! You caught my interest pretty much immediately. Treasure is one of my all-time favourite developers, too. =D Gunstar Heroes, Dynamite Headdy and especially Alien Soldier rank up there amongst my favourites of all time.

And you even like Gradius. Awesome! I have the Gradius Collection on my PSP, and Gradius Gaiden is by far my favourite. It's not built to be a quarter muncher, but it's still Gradius, and thus very difficult. The music I think is the part of it I like the best.

If you're into TurboGrafx emulation, have you ever tried the Dragon Spirit games? I mostly played the third one, which was on NES, but I hear many good things about the TurboGrafx iterations. Excellent SHMUP-ee goodness.
