I just found out that in the new Resident Evil movie: Resident Evil Retribution is going to be adding a lot of the characters from the games that they haven't shown before. For any fans of the movies I'm sorry, but this movie is going to completely destroy those characters. So far, the movies have shown Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, Chris Redfield, Albert Weskar and Nemesis. After what the movies did to these characters, I already know what is going to happen. The newest movie is going to feature Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong and Barry Burton. The three of them are going to get maybe five lines, they may each do something a little bit cool and then Alice will completely show them up.

Forgive me for judging a movie before I've seen it, but after watching the first four movies r**p the true main characters and destroy the entire story line of the Resident Evil series, I can't help but be judgmental. To think, people who have never played the games are going to think that these garbage movies are the true Resident Evil.

I, for one, will not be watching this movie. Leon Kennedy is my favorite character and I am terrified of what the movie will do to him.

What are your thoughts on the movie? Do you agree, disagree, don't care?

I've seen all four movies, and I am not a huge fan of what they did to most of them. I'm OK with Claire, but I hated how Chris didn't do much in the previous film. The way Jill dressed in the second movie, even though it represents her costume from RE3, still bugged me for some reason. Wesker is just bleh, although he had one or two cool moments in the previous film. I actually liked Nemesis in the second film. From what I know, Nemesis was just some weird creature created to terminate S.T.A.R.S., but in the movie he was actually a human experimented on, so I can understand why he's so non-terrifying. Hearing of Leon, Ada, and Barry showing up in this upcoming fifth film, I do wonder what they're going to do with them. I just hope they make Leon as awesome as he was in RE4, although that probably won't happen.

Still, I will see this movie. I'm willing to give it a chance, despite the previous films.

I actually do not even want to see the upcoming Resident Evil movie. Although, it is one of those things where I have already made it this far the movies, so I might as well see it through till the end..... unfortunately. The movies have just gotten worse with each installment. Wesker was so freaking awesome in the games. Heck, Wesker was either directly or indirectly involved with every single event that happen in all of the Resident Evil games. Yet, in the movies, he was just like Alice's negative. If anyone wants to see a decent Resident Evil movie that has a good representation of the game plots, watch the animated Resident Evil movie. I actually thought that was pretty cool.

I've liked the movies so far as well as the games. I think the movie characters are 'inspired' by the game characters, which is fine for me. They aren't perfectly rendered from the games, but are stand alone characters. Both the movies and games are cool even if the movies don't follow the games.

Iv watched all the movies and true it reinvents the plot, perhaps it should have taken a new name.
I still enjoyed them, though i do feel they get progressively worse, dont get me started on the stupidity of the last one.
I also dislike how she falls in love in every frickin one and everyone dies...
Its also stupid how many times they aproach someone to see if theyre human, just deaf, and then get munched.
Il watch this movie at some point im sure, just now im more interested in underworld =p

I understand where you guys are coming from. However, for most people it was the complete opposite. The very first Resident Evil movie came out well after the games. So all of the fans of Resident Evil were expecting something amazing. They were expecting to see their favorite characters doing amazing stunts and kicking a**. Instead they were given a movie based around a character who doesn't even exist in any of the games. They were given movies where their favorite characters do little to nothing while Alice takes all of the spotlight. They were given movies that didn't follow the story line of the games they loved so much. For most people (including me and all of my friends), it was a major disappointment.

I think any movies that are based on video games are destined to be bad. For Resident Evil I think they should have at least try to make the movie more like the video game, but instead they messed it up entirely with a cruddy plot, forgetful characters, but most importantly the ending. All 4 of the Resident Evil movies have a kinda wannabe cliff hanger kind of ending that kinda tells you "oh were going to make another cruddy Resident Evil sequel to this one with more stuff that will tick off you Resident Evil fans" I tell you its just Hollywood just trying to ruin a perfectly good video game series just because they're too brainless to come up with good ideas for a movie T_T
