O.K., so I was starting to get reaallllyyy bored this summer... I slept in this morning and just woke up 20 minutes ago. My parents woke me up smiling.

"Guess what?"
I was so half asleep I could barely reply, "what..?"
mom just smiled with the phone in her hand, giggling,
"For a college boy you sure like do slack off."
I had no idea what she meant but my dad explained,
"That CCRI program you applied for... Out of 700 people--- all of them seniors-- ya got first place."

What this meant was I was the only JUNIOR state-wide to get in, not to mention First Place. What exactly is the CCRI program?

Well, I originally got third place in it but the program was restarted and I got first place in the new program--- the program where I'm ACTUALLY IN COLLEGE. This means I am in college--- but I'm 16....

With this program I get:

• Class from 4-7 on Mondays & Wednesdays
  
• A free starter textbook
• A bus pass for the whole summer.
• Free access to the entire campus whenever I want.
• 3 credits worth $600.
• ALL FREE supplies.
• ...And it also means I can stop having that inferiority complex that I've been having for 4 years.

So yeah... College and 16... Wow....

1^st place, too. What the hell did I write that was so good that they were like, "Screw the other 699 people, this kid's the ONE!" psssh.... Watch it be some government experiment conspiracy that involves me being some test for the CIA.... LMAO!

COLLEGE
College is a wonderful place; It’s packed full of countless opportunities and it prepares people for their futures. This is the exact reason as to why I want to attend college.


One particular college I wish greatly to attend is the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI). From what I have seen, this is a college with the most opportunities for me. When I graduate high school, I want to start making websites, games, and I would love to have writing as one of my future careers. My future is a sculpting block, and college provides me with the chisel; I am given the opportunity to shape my life, and my career in any way I see fit; .


I want to attend a college because of such. Being able to fully customize what I want to do for the rest of my life gives me a sense of amazing freedom, and the flexibility gives me breathing room to craft my future to its absolute fullest. The Community College of Rhode Island in particular has caught my attention; And, with this free program that it is providing me to join, I can put credits toward my future, and get more done faster. I would love to go to college and shape my life the way I want, and CCRI has given me the chance to, with this program that I so greatly anticipate to become a part of.



Participating in this college success summer program is such a great way to help me become the best I can be. This is a once in a lifetime chance and I am very eager to embrace it. And even though there are only one hundred and fifty available slots state-wide, I believe that I will be one of the students whom would benefit the most from this program. While I don’t know many of these fellow students, and therefore I do not know their learning patterns or their intelligence, I will give every single task my absolute best effort to complete; This is a chance I do not want to miss.


Once I heard of this program from my guidance counselor, I was deeply thrilled to start the program this summer. A free program that gives me a six hundred dollar scholarship for the program that would give me college credits? That’s an astounding privilege.



The Community College of Rhode Island is also the school my sister attended. And, she told me that it was an amazing experience. After hearing that, I went on a field trip the year afterward to CCRI, and she wasn’t lying. This college had everything I wanted, everything I needed, and everything I enjoyed out of an educational facility.



Thus, my experiences have led me down a long road and now there’s a fork going in two different directions. The road I want to choose for my future is the one where I become successful, the road where I am a leader, and the path that brings me to happiness and satisfaction.
That path starts with this program, and that is the exact reason why I want to participate in it.


some side notes about the essay:
This was written before the original college program was scrapped and replaced with full college for summer. So, wow, I still can't believe i made it!

AWESOME!!!!!!!!! You pretty much are guaranteed a successful future with your talents and dreams. Just don't slack off like me or you'll end up in gutter You got #1 wow lol. I entered college when I was 17 and its a good thing cause most people either never go or go when their 40

Since you want to make websites, create games, and write... you should combine them all into some awesome website.

P.S. When they say free supplies what exactly does that mean? Free computers and software? HOOK ME UP WITH SOME

free supplies as in free library access, and some textbooks and the 2 3-hour classes a week for like 2 months
