I agree completely on the worst choices...Michael Bay makes eye candy and Uwe Boll makes very dodgy, though technically legal, films that are ungodly horrible makiing even Ed Wood look like a professional.

My Favorite directors include Quentin Tarantino, Steven Spielberg, Alfred Hitchcock, Peter Jackson, Ed Wood (I'm serious and I am making this choice consciously), and...Clint Eastwood. This list is far from complete, but that includes a few I immensely enjoys.

I don't have a ton of directors I dislike, but Micheal Bay and M. Night Shamyalan (or whatever the heck his last name is) come to mind.

For director I like, I do enjoy Steven Speilberg, Peter Jackson, and Quentin Tarantino. Those guys make great films.

As much as I hate Mel Gibson as a person he is a good director, so he's one of the good ones. The obvious ones like Speilberg, Hitchcock, Tarantino, and Jackson are also on the list of good ones. Don Bluth is another director who deserves to be mentioned. However, my favorite director of all time is Hayao Miyazaki.

Bad directors include Catherine Hardwicke, Chris Weitz, and Bill Condon. These are three of the directors who directed the Twilight films. I checked to see if they had made any other movies I'd seen, but they hadn't, so if the only thing I know them for is the Twilight movies then something is wrong.

You may note that I did not put David Slade, the director of "Eclipse" on the list of baddies. This is because he redeems himself for Eclipse with the movies "Hard Candy" and "30 Days of Night", both of which are very good movies.
