So, I've gotten pretty far in the game, but when I load it, it says save state failed at the bottom of the emulator. When the screen loads with all the save files, they're all blank. I will be sooooo mad if I can't get it back, but I guess it will keep me busy LOL

If the answer to either of BNuge's questions are no, have you checked the Save File Manager to see if the files made for Paper Mario are still there in your account? If you don't know how to access it, click the Retro Game Room tab, and that brings you to it's main page. Then you'll see that bar near that top that lists all users on that page. On the far left of that bar is where you find the Save File Manager tab.

No. I never started playing from a new file. It was always my load file. Yes, I checked the save manager, NONE of my games are there!
 
But, I always save in the game, never with the emulator.
