My mom is really cool but she also made sure that I know to respect my elders, and do what I'm told. She's always told me if I sneak out, do drugs, or any of this s***, I'll end up sleeping in her closet and my room will be her new closet. She's not a b****, but she doesn't want me to have a kid young like her. Nobody should EVER act like this.

You'd be surprised at how many kids treat their parents like this. It's not an uncommon thing. I never treated my Mother with such disrespect, but a lot of kids do. It's sad really.

Her mom wasn't really accomplishing much by saying she'd take care of the baby--that's what the girl wants, but it is also what the baby needs, so no going around that. Clearly looks like a case of environment and friends--what could the mother have possibly done for that girl to be that way? And if she would've said "whatever" ONE MORE TIME. Ugh, I think that was the worst part. Completely closed-minded. She knew she was going to be on the show, and just sat there and said "whatever" the entire time, trying to drown out anything and everything anyone else could possibly say. Surprised everyone had enough constraint not to smack her right there since the audience always likes to get involved. 

And on a side note, is it just me, or is anyone else able to play 'snake' with the youtube loading symbol? For some reason, every couple of random videos lately, the video won't pause and the loading symbol wont go away. Instead, after going to pause it so that the cursor in focused on the video, if I press up or down on the keyboard, the white dots stop circling and turn into a game of snake! It's hard to find the blinking white dot sometimes depending on the video, though. lol

The mom is responsible for how she is.

I do not have enough evidence to decisively conclude what the problem is. There is no evidence as to how the mom treated her daughter other than how the mom was raised by her mom. If that is a real indicator of anything, then it means that Shante was hanging with the wrong crowd. This is purely speculation, but could she possibly have a case of Oppositional Defiant Disorder?
