Its a urban legend saying The theme of lavender town causes Kids 7-12 to commit suicide for Frequencies That only that age group can here.
The reality is They DID CHange it. But becuase it cuases slight headaches.I myself am 12 and i got a slight head ache and discomfort.

Well, interestingly enough, I had a friend who actually got sick when he heard the Lavender town theme when he was younger. It actually has to do with the binaural frequencies in the song that gives people headaches and discomfort. Although I don't know about the suicides, that seems a little *puts on sunglasses* FARFETCH'D!!

I learned about this like last November and me and m friends seemed to have become very interested in it and we looked into the urban legend like crazy.  We could hear the high pitched noise that was supposed to cause the suicides.  As you can see we did not kill ourselves but the song did give us bad headaches and made us feel sick to our stomachs.

I heard about that two or one year ago, too.
But, speaking for myself, I never got headaches or something like that from it, not back then when I was a child, and not today. Actually I've always liked this little melody, maybe because I've always had a soft spot for horror and other creepy things.

In Red and Blue they removed those headache-causing sounds, and in Gold and Silver they totally changed the music (but I guess everybody who played the games knows that, but I just wanted to say it). I guess I'm not really that surprised. Older video games from Japan used to give people Seizures all the time. That's why they started putting warnings on the games, and game boxes. Not sure I believe the frequency stuff though. Mythbusters has discounted a lot of those frequency Myths. Not that they are the end all be all on the subject though
