I saw the Circuit Board thing on here, too. I mean, I have no problem with that - usually - but I was just wondering...does it continue after the Elite Four, or do you have to start a new game again?

It doesn't. The game itself does but it wont allow you to continue. Many Pokemon games are like that such as FireRed and LeafGreen.

The question has been answered correctly, but before closing this, I'll provide an explanation that I was given a long time ago as to why it doesn't work. It appears that the coding that the cartridges have that makes it continue the game after the ending credits can't be recreated for a ROM to work with an emulator. That is the basic gist of it. In order to do the stuff that you normally can't do until after you beat the Elite 4, you have to play a hack version of the game that gives you access to all the areas not normally available until the Elite 4 is beaten.
