I was bored and randomly thought of this idea. So basically give the name of the song (feel free to put up a link if you wish) and the reasons why it reflects your current mood/thought process. I'm usually a pretty happy guy since I went through a lot of good changes back in the summer. Yet, I am also a bit anxious for Christmas because I get to listen to the new albums I got, see my friends, and watch basketball! I saw a commercial promoting the new season and they actually used one of my favourite songs of all time from one of my all time favourite artists - "Good Times" by Sam Cooke. The lyrics, at least to me, are quite simple and upbeat with just a little sense of caution with the lines: "I've felt this good since I don't know when/And I might not feel this good again." I interpret the lyrics to mean to relax and enjoy yourself without worrying about what time it is, work, or whatever distraction out there. Make room for time to enjoy yourself.

For those who do not know, Sam Cooke was one of the pioneers of soul music, one of the first black artists to get exposure for black artists in general on the pop charts, one of the first musicians to really understand the business aspect of the industry, and an all around amazing singer. He's definitely my favourite male vocalist of all time (lol that's the third time I used the phrase "all time," well four now).

Well, I have realized that I have had a very lazy day today. Not much done when I had time to do SO much. So right now, I think the song "There is life outside your apartment" from Avenue Q describes how I feel (even though I don't live in an apartment).

Like I'm sitting all alone in a big giant room, and that I am perfectly okay with that.

I have been rather down lately...recently work has distracted me from some issues in my life, yet now that I am reverting to an idle status, and my mind is resting. One big thing that is acting currently is that it is rather lonely due to...certain progression of events. Hence...this song works for me.











One of the reasons I went with a Jazz persona during the Christmas event was because I do have a genuine appreciation for the genre, and one of the first that I heard extensively was Chet Baker. I love the melancholy in the instruments and it fits my mood 100% perfectly.

This song works well for the moment.
