So I am probably starting LPN Nursing school in July.  I read that you have to have full health and dental to be in nursing school!  That seems a little..controlling and weird...

Does anyone know if this is true?  I cant see paying for school and then having full insurance on top of it! Insurance in PA/NJ is like 650 a month.

Not only that, but you are around a LOT of different sicknesses. It is also there to make sure you get taken care of as soon as something happens from exposure. This is why so many people I know going into nursing have a mountain of dept in loans. They have to take out more to cover the medical and dental.

Well if you do get in, enjoy it. I know some nursing students and it is a rough program. If you make it through, you should be all set for a job though. People will always be sick, therefore there will always be a call for doctors and nurses.

I never knew that about nursing school. Makes sense though. It seems like it costs a hell of a lot, but when you get far enough into the field and really get to play doctor the bank you'll make will be well worth it.

I don't get how you are supposed to have Full Dental and Medical to go to nursing school. What if you work for a company that doesn't have dental insurance? Many companies don't even offer it. I'm sure it's probably a law, because some ridiculous person thought it sounded like a good idea...lol
