I wasn't going to buy a console after PS2 but someone gave me an Xbox 360, no games. Looking for an RPG I bought Oblivion GOTY, I was thinking of FFXIII but that game looked more for HDTV and I still have SDTV.. So after Oblivion, Skyrim came out and it's the most addictive game I've ever played, actually Oblivion was like that as well.  With Skyrim since Nov 14, I've played my first hero for 101 hours at default level and finished the main quest but also my hours of dieing and reloading must add up quite a lot. I never thought of playing on easy till someone posted about playing the game at master level, I turned my game difficulty down to easy with my second character and found it way more fun and less time dieing or buying/making potions.

[Moved to the Video Games forum since it talks about just one game.]

I haven't played Skyrim myself, but I know people that have spent 200 hours on the game already. O_o

Someone70 :

Like myself, who is above and beyond 350 hours.

I love Skyrim. Best game I've played. Ever.

I'm not kidding. This game is god in video game form.

I planned to buy this game because I like The Elder Scrolls and I played the third and the fourth episode, I'm playing the second episode and I planned to play the first episode too. This universe is really awesome, we are free to do whatever we want and it's really cool, plus the game has so many things to do and discover, honestly, in my opinion, this game is probably the game of the year

My first character is a male Nord and am level 30 and over a 100 hours. I've tried out different characters and used a female Breton but ran into gliches with her and after 30 hours I dumped her for a female Nord.  My male Nord has had no glitches at all and I've completed the main quest and there's huge amounts of stuff to do yet, the game is just starting.

I find it funny how Im doing all this wilderness exploring, but have only been to 4 holds so far.

This is a 1000 hour+ game.

No ifs ands or buts about it

I have had Skyrim for two weeks and have over 100 hours of gameplay on my dark elf character. This game is the best game I have...ever played. I have only finished the thieves guild and stormcloak storylines, but I play on finishing the rest...soonish. I have been playing  morrowind for six years, and never really got into oblivion, but I love skyrim. It is insane at the freedom you have. I have three houses, a wife, a few horses and 30000 gold, and still haven't even gotten around to doing half of the things the game allows you to do. I love it.

I'm about to do the last Stromcloaks battle. I also have 3 houses, but missed the option to get my Windhelm house cleaned before I decorated. Riften is a nice house and I have Whiterun, although with a second character, she didn't get the dialogue to buy the house, even though all requirements were made and  became Thane. With her I found the archers house in Riverwood safe to stash your loot, and it's still there after 30 hours gameplay.

I'm one of those unlucky people who get drops in frames per second and more after over 177 hours of gameplay, which was on a 14MB file. It's the PS3 version, but I love Skyrim to death. I plan to get a new PC or save up once I am broke after a game shopping spree I have after Christmas since I get about 100 dollars in Christmas money. I'm probably going to save up for a brand new laptop or get someone to upgrade my current one for me. Maybe catsitting would be a good start for me since I love cats so much. *hugs a stuffed leopard*

The game certainly isn't what I'd call the best of the year. I still think Deus Ex Human Revolution deserved an award. Skyrim's dungeons are fun to go into, though. The problem is... Glitches. I am avoiding many things I'd love to delve into just because of a smegging glitch. SMEG! I can't wait for the updates that will hopefully be for fixing game problems. I do wish I could put stuff on tables in my houses without coming back to a mess, though. And I hate how bookshelves don't hold the smaller books and let you hold more if they are smaller. I want to have a bookshelf filled with journals that looks tidy, thanks.

This game is still a fantastic game despite all its flaws. The dragon thing that was being hyped before release is more of an annoyance now. I actually am staying FAR away from the main quest on my second character so I can go to cities without being greeted by mass murder via dragon. The game's smaller amount of pointless objects you can pick up is annoying, too. I loved collecting paintbrushes in Oblivion and laughing at how they would float. The dungeons are much more fun this time around, luckily.

The guild quest lines are too short. I beat the Wizard college one in a day. A DAY! I would have loved to at least find books on some of the stuff in this questline. The biggest turn off in it was the quest you get where you explore a Nordic ruin. No one seems to have any perception of danger in that guild!

KlawedFlaw :

I wish I could experience these glitches like everyone else is, because I feel like I'm missing something when I call it "Game of the Year". (Note- I am still playing the supposedly "bugged" PS3 version.)

I really want the PC version though... too bad my computer wouldn't be able to handle it.

That said, Deus Ex has been great for me so far, but I more certainly do prefer Skyrim.

legacyme3 : have you beaten the main quest yet? How is it? I know I asked you some things about it before as far as comparing it to Oblivion. This should be the last one. In Oblivion, like I said before, I completed all the side missions and expansion packs before even starting the main quest (except for escaping the dungeon in the beginning) and I found I had more fun outside the main story than in. In Skyrim, is the main story at least as good as the rest of the game?

To be completely honest, no. I haven't even really bothered with the main quest. I always boost my character to an insane level, then tackle the quest.

I'll get back to you on the Main Story when I do it, but I've heard it's pretty awesome.

If fighting dragons are the hardest thing, then the game is dreadfully easy for me.

The hardest thing I think I've done so far is fight a giant bare handed.

lol. Dragons aren't hard to beat. The main quest is fun...I was just kinda disappointed at the end. But if you want a real challenge...turn the difficulty all the way up and then fight the dragons.

legacyme3 : My PC could somewhat handle Skyrim, but I'd rather get the full experience without all the hassle until I get a PC that will play it better. You are extremely lucky, by the way. The PS3 version has given me tons of grievances, but I like the game enough to put up with them. I'm on a new character named Jaded Outlands who is a Khajiit. I tried making him look kinda like one of the outlanders from The Lion King 2.

Jaded is more or less an overly self confident thief who makes his home in Riften.

Could it have something to do with my choice of race? I pretty much always play an Imperial Male, given it's generally the closest I'll get to a representation of myself in a game.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
