I've been trying to run a game called "The world ends with you" on a DS emulator.

It only seemed to work with iDeaS, and it ran rather perfectly for the first cutscene (No change or distortion in the voice-acting, either(I confirmed this by watching the opening on youtube))

Just after your character finds the skull pin (About 3 minutes in), the game goes to a dialogue box conversation on the top screen.

...The only problem is, there is no background or dialogue boxes on the top screen. Only your character is shown giving the expressions he would during the normal conversation.

Also, I continued after this by watching the beginning 10 minutes on youtube.

After pressing the skull pin in the corner (which was completely missing the graphic as well...) the character disappeared (which he shouldn't have) and the dialogue boxes appearing on the bottom screen were blank (missing the graphics too.)

Then your character recieves a text message, and the entire both screens are completely missing all graphics, and the sounds are still going off.

I didn't do anything after that for my first try.

My second try, I loaded the game, and I clicked the skull pin on the title screen, and the emulator locks up and closes.

That's all it's doing now.

Does anyone know of any good DS emulators?
iDeaS, DeSmuME, and NO$GBA all seem to not work.


Either that, or had anyone bought this game?
I want to know if it's good enough that I should buy it.

As far as I know, from the DS emulators around, they all suck pretty bad and dont have very good compatability (from what you found out just now).

Do you have a DS already?
A better alternative would be to get a flash card. I recommend the latest in the M3 range (m3 real is the latest) http://www.m3adapter.com/

I have heard good things about the TT and R4 cards aswell.. but havnt tried for myself.

What these cards are, a replica DS card, with a flash memory in them, such as a MicroSD card (usualy 1-2gb), and you put your games onto that. Operate just as they normaly would, and lets you also run homebrew programs on your ds .

The NO$GBA is the highest rated PC DS emulator out there, I have the newest version on the site also. But if you find one better, I will definitely add it to the site.

Awesome. I hadnt checked up on them in a while, so I guess they finally got DS emulators to work. I remember downloading them a year ago and none of them working...

I'll try upgrading NO$GBA, since I don't know what vesion I have.

M3 DS Simply is probably around $35 (40 w/shipping) and a 2 gb memory card for it probably goes for about $25 (free shipping on amazon), so you could get way with only spending $65. And if you're really on a tight budget, get a 1 GB memory card for $10 (5 shipping) and you'd only be spending $55.

About the price of two games.

Are they similar to the "Datel Max 4GB Media Player?"
If so, I don't want to buy something that'll die within 6 months.

Benny: The DS M3 Simply comes out with firmware updates almost monthly, and I haven't encountered a game that doesn't work, they all run at full speeds. On top of that, you can play music and movies on the DS, run emulators, built in action replay, ebooks, backup save files, and other homebrew stuff.

Additionally, with a 1 GB memory card, you can hold about 20- games on it, so it's pretty convenient only carrying around 1 cart but having 20 DS games on it (about 40 on the 2 GB).

I of course do encourage people to buy the real games but I think this is a great way to test out games your not sure of or to play games you wouldn't buy anyway.

And like Dragon Master said, that is cheap, considering it's like having every single DS game ever made.

Can you add/remove games from a trans-flash card?
(Like a CD/DVD RW)

Also, nintendo rips me off plenty, so I would like to be sure (from now on) if I like a game before actually buying it.

Amazon and Ebay usually don't carry these items. You can remove and add roms whenever you want. Also, if you remove a rom and put it back in later, as long as it contains the same exact file name as before, you'll still have your save file because save files are created as separate files which can be also backed up.

I'm not to sure the difference of DSM3 Simply and DSM3 Real, all I know is that Real is more newer so perhaps that is the better one to get.

No, the Rumble pack is basically a freebie, it is not needed at all. All you need is 1 cart to play teh games.

It comes with a USB adaptor which you place your MicroSD memory card into and thru that you can add and remove files from the memory card using your computer. And than you place that tiny memory card back into the flash cart when your ready.

The rumble packs arnt that great anyway.

A Couple of questions:
Where does it save the files to?
What IS the Rumble pack?
Whats the T-Flash Reader?
Is one M3 Cartridge only able to hold 1 ROM?
Is this legal?

1) It saves the files to the MicroSD card that you need to buy to put the actual files on.

2) The rumble pack is like the rumble pack of a PS2 controller. It adds vibration to DS games through a GBA cartridge.

3) I think it is what you need to transfer files onto the MicroSD card.

4) It can hold a certain amount depending on the size of the MicroSD card.

5) It's about as legal as buying modded games.

Correction on number 5: The M3 is 100% legal. What you use it for is another question entirely.

Yeah as Dragon Master said, it's 100% legal because you can choose to use it for legal things. However, most people choose to load it with roms which isn't so legal (but who's gonna find out?).


Neyro: I'm not sure if you read anything I've said in this post, most of your questions I've already answered. If you buy a 1 GB memory card for it (probably US $10) you can hold 20 DS games on it.


Bigbob: I've got a rumble pack for my DS and I love it. Not all games use it but for the ones that do, I think it definitely adds to the games.
