My first two experiences were with my mother and the school driving instructor.

The way that they reacted you'd think I was trying to kill them both!


My mother was terrible. While I know I was not driving poorly, my mother was never one to relinquish the wheel to someone else. She sat white-knuckled from gripping the door.

The instructor wasn't so bad since he had dealt with a lot of other kids, but I do recall fear when, for whatever reason, the first place that he sent me was the highway in midtown! I'm supposed to be learning! What about making circles in a parking lot first or something! He did have to slam on the instructor break because I almost backed into a ditch while trying to turn around, though.

My first driving experience was when I was about 16 going on 17. I drove in an empty parking lot with my mother as my mentor, it felt awkward. We would do this a couple of days a week. At this point I had a permit and was practicing for a road test.

About a month later I took the road test and passed the first time!!

I was 12 and i was driving in the mountains my dad gave me the wheel then he stoped the car and made me drive 50 miles to the next city... it was fun but I'm like e_0 did he just do that.

I live down a private road that's fairly straight and every once in a while I get to drive up and down it. Otherwise, though, I don't get to drive, because I'm not old enough. I look forward to getting my license in the future, though.

My first driving experiance was extreamly bad seeing that me and my family was almost arrested since I was only 13 driving with my mom and dad but the cop keep driving  by and didn't stop us so it was all good.

My first driving experience was when I was five. My grandpa was getting in his pick up, stoping after thirty feet, and then throwing a bail of hay out of the back of the truck, getting back in, and repeating the process. So, I asked him I could drive it for him. It was a very open field, so that was no chance of me hitting anything. Except for the darned Conrete sewer thing that was about fifteen feet across sticking out fo the ground about a total of four feet. I hit the darned thing. That was pretty funny, because I was only going five miles an hour the whole time, but when i hit it, the truck cut off, and my grandpa fell out of the bed of the truck, and into a pile of cow dung. Laughing Out Loud Still. That was  grand old time. I am going to visit hime in less than a week. I wonder if he still has that truck. I am eighteen now, so it has been fifteen years since I last drove the truck, but only four or five years since I have last seen him.

My actual first experience was in the drive way, but I do not really like to think of that as a real driving experience. I think my non-actual, but what I feel as my first one to have been a short drive around the neighboorhood, by that time I already knew how to park, turn, 180, 360, and the bunch of other basics that my parents had decided to thrust at me. I was able to keep in good control after first shooting straight past a stop sign and by the end of the first few hours I was in really good control of the car. At the beginning it was rough, I would always find myself making a mistake here and there, much to the annoyance of my father who was teaching me. By the end I can emotionally say that he actually felt proud at what I had accomplished. Which is saying a good bunch.
