I always use cyndaquil, it's my best starter, and ever since playing Crystal for the first time, cyndaquil has been the Pokémon for me.. I've always like it, and I've been told that it has the most type advantages out of all of the other two Johto Pokémon. Don't think that's the only reason why I choose it, it's not. Like I said before. I have always used cyndaquil, not just for it's power, but because I like them.

I had voted for Charmander because Charmander is the closest starter to a dragon type Pokémon and I also like Charmander a lot because he/she(I never really care if it is stronger or has more defence)can learn dragon breath. Also in my brothers Leaf Green(It was my brothers at the start) I like Charmander as Charizard because He/She Can learn Blast Burn Which is the strongest Fire Type move in Leaf green.

So many fine choices, however, I ultimately went with Mudkip. Swampert is probably the best of the bunch with only one weakness and a fine type combination, great moveset, and good base stats.

I would pick Squirtle. My reason is that his water attacks crush Charizard, and he can learn moves like bite and body slam, which can at least do normal damage to the leaf types. As far as why I didn't choose the newer generation water type, I just never kept track of the later Pokemon. I stuck with the original 151, and never cared to look forward.
