Breed, breed ,breed! Mass breeding is sure to get you what you want. Breed with a Pokemon that came from somebody who uses a different language copy, that will double your chances of a shiny(though the odds will still be lousy 'cause the base odds are like 1 in 2500 or something).

When you choose Oshawott for your starter at the beginning of the game(and you might hate me for this), if it's not shiny turn the game off, turn it back on, and try again. Repeat process until you have your shiny!

Thanks so much. I did what you said and breeded for some months (im lazy and impatient) and got what I wanted. It makes me so happy now that I have one of my own shinies! All of mine are usually traded. You really helped!
