Well Aaron Rodgers is known to get easily injured and I gaurantee that if Aaron Rodgers gets injured and can't play, I'm willing to bet Favre would come out of retirement to fill in for Aaron and finish up the season. Either way, if he stays in retirement to long and decided to come out after being retired to long, he'll most likely not be as good and a little rusty.

I just can't believe Favre would retire now though, this is seriously the worst possible time for him to retire because this is one of the best team's he's had (beside the super bowl team). The packers could have easily gone to the super bowl this upcomming season if Favre hadn't retired. Aaron Rodgers seems good and all but we'll just have to see how well he does at taking over for Favre

The team needs to work as a team, and if it wants to do that, it has to have everyone in the team playing. Retirement of a team member jumbles up teams, and usually drastically lowers their chances at winning, especially if said retired player was one of their greatest assets.

That's the wonderful thing about the Packers, they definitely played as a team. Some quarter backs only throw to 1 or 2 people, in the average game, Favre would throw to probably around 5 different people, and of course would hand it off a lot too. So they're definitely a team which takes advantage of almost every player on the field.

He said that he mentally was to old, he said he can still play, which it shows in the previously football season (was one of his best), but as he said, he's getting tired of playing football and waking up every morning to practice is to much for him.

I found an interesting on a website:

"Brett Favre said he was at peace with his decision to retire in a recent interview with his hometown newspaper, but he also left open the possibility of a comeback if the Packers called because of injuries."

This basically backs up what I said about me thinking he'd come out of retirement if Aaron Rodgers was injured.

I don't think he would return for any other reason and he certainly doesn't seem like he'd want to make Aaron Rodgers go back on the bench, as to why he said he'd only consider it if Aaron Rodgers got injured (and aaron got injured during practice last season ).

And Favre has respect for other players and I think he's happy that Aaron Rodgers gets a chance to be a starter finally and I doubt Favre wants to take that away from Aaron Rodgers unless Aaron Rodgers was inured and couldn't play.

He really needs to fake a broken back so Farve can fill in... if not it will be years till they get another chance at a super bowl.

Yeah without Favre, I don't see them having any chance to the Super Bowl. They were 3 points away from going to the Super Bowl this past season and I know they could have easily got to the Super Bowl this upcomming season if Favre would have stayed. Favre's backup is pretty good though but not nearly a Brett Favre.

I'll say this a million times if I have to: Bret Favre had a great and long career; it was his time to go, he isn't young anymore

Well many figured this would happen, Brett Favre recently says he wants to come out of retirement and play for the Packers. Only problem is, Packers have already counted on Aaron Rogers (favre's backup quarter back last year) to take over the team.

But I personally think Aaron Rogers can wait 1 more year, all Favre needs is 1 more year to play and there's no doubt on my mind that he can take them to the super bowl and win it. After that, Favre can officially retire happy and Aaron Rogers can take over from there. Or if that doesn't work, they can take turns being the Packers QB. Favre would always start but as soon as he starts having a bad day (which he has sometimes), than they pull him out and Aaron plays the rest of the game.

What does everyone else think about Favre trying to come back?

It's worth it. My hockey team here called the Avalanche won one of their stanley cups from one of the main players who was like 40+. He got stanley cup then retired. I don't know if farve won super bowl ever but that is your mission to reach the end. Once you do that you can retire or you just wasted all that time, energy, and hard work for nothing. But I guess there is no complaining with the kind of paychecks they give to sports people.

On a side related sports note, I saw that Tiger Woods is now the richest player in sports, he is the first to earn a billion off it lol

I still find it hard to believe some people complain about their paychecks when they are making somewhere in the millions.
