I played Morrowind on my PC and got addicted till it started to effect my equilibrium from playing all day during a winter work lay-off from landscaping.  I never played Oblivion as my PC is not up-dated to handle anything with pixel shader.  I got given an xbox 360 so after some thought got Oblivion, this game is pretty cool, I've spent day going back and forth with hero and heroine, changing names and faces. When I played Morrowind, the Breton race was what I liked best, I'm a 3rd person gamer, so with Oblivion I went with Bretons again. I have a male named Hawkwind, an older grey haired guy, and the female is Marianne with copper hair and freckled face, not too pretty pretty. What strikes me about playing this game compare to something like Final Fantasy XII on my PS2, is how cool to design your hero/heroine and see whatever you get them to wear. Playing FFXII and such games, you get gear but your stuck with a character that never changes, I guess there's reasons why, probably coz of the movie scenes.  Anyway Oblivion will keep me going till I get Skyrim.

I played a bit of Morrowind, but oblivion is one of the best games I have ever played. I have been playing it for about two years and only beat it once. The amount of things that are in that game is astounding. Currently I am running a Nord barbarian whom I named Wulfgar( Based on the R.A. Salvatore character.) My first character was a ninja. He could jump off the surface of the water and could be stealthed in broad daylight as long as I was crouched. Oblivion is an amazing game, and I probably will not stop playing it until Skyrim comes out in two months.

If you have oblivion then you should get some mods but first to download this to get some mods  http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Oblivion_Mod_Manager have fun, also the reason why they don't want you to change your guy's looks in FF7 is because that what he is suppose to look like in the cannon.

After 30+ hours with a male Breton I switched to a female Imperial with the french braid hair, wearing the hunter gear most of the time plays like a new version of Draken with Rynn.

As I was saying hawkwind you should get some mods because after a while the game its self gets boring (unless you have tons of mods) as you said you started a new game because you got bored...SO GET SOME MODS...don't know how. Oblivion CS should help you.

OMG I loved oblivion, the best game I've ever played, I always chose an Argonian, I love those Lizard Folk, I believe when I stopped, unwillingly my Xbox got the 'ol RROD , I was around level 50-60 I played the crap outta that game. My mom got into it too, In fact she was ten levels ahead of me when my Xbox broke, you need to get the Shivering Isles expansion it got me several dozen more hours of gameplay and Knights of the Nine you get cool armor for completing the quest. And I absolutely cannot wait for 11-11-11 SKYRIM!! In Oblivion I completed everything I mean EVERYTHING I was the leader of the Mages Guild, Fighters Guild, The Gray Fox, Got Goldbrand, completed all of the Daedric Shrine quests, Champion of Cyrodiil, Grand Champion, Listener, Sheogorath, aaaaaand the Divine Crusader. I had nothing to do after all of this but explore the world so I did and I loved it still. Skyrim has a lot to live up to and I think it will do just fine.

When I bought the game, I spent over 70 hours leveling everything up. I was able to get all my stats to level 100 by doing efficient leveling (if you haven't heard of that, it is working on the right skills so you always get +5 for 3 stats every time you level up). That is, except for luck, as it has no governing skill to get more than +1, and I maxed out all my major skills before I could get it to 100.. As far as skills, there were about 5 that I hadn't maxed out. It made the game so easy. I did all that before playing the Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, and even the Main Quest. I became the highest rank in every guild in the game. But to be completely honest, I enjoyed Morrowind GOTY edition more than Oblivion. Don't get me wrong, Oblivion was a good game and all, but I think Morrowind's main quest story was better, longer, and had more to do. When I did every other quest I could do in Oblivion and found every location, I then started the main quest. But it ended up only taking me less than 2 hours to completely play through. And just to make it longer, I didn't quick travel anywhere, and it was still under 2 hours for me. I could not do that with Morrowind no matter how strong my character was. I don't know. I just liked Morrowinds main quest more. I think Oblivion was more focused on the technical parts of the game to worry as much about that. I hope Skyrim does as well on the story line as they did with Morrowind.

I have Morrowind on my PC but had to stop when my equilibrium when funny and would get dizzy all the time, the only other game that did that was Dragongard 2.  I have the Goty edition for 360 but the expansion don't work. I've installed the second disc 3 times looking to see if I missed something. When I start Oblivion I get a short loading extra content but there's nothing in my quest list and no person to contact for KotN. I tried connecting my modem to the 360 but it won't connect to xbox live. It seems stupid that they have a Goty and it requires perhaps an update for the expansions to work.

I sussed it, I was using a Usb cable before and with an older modem, when I tried my current modem with Usb it didn't connect, I tried Ethernet with the old modem but it still didn't work but when I used the Ethernet it connected and I got my updates. I don't have a router so I have to disconnect my modem from the PC in the other room. Now that I got on Xbox live I'll try the old modem again but it's not a big deal to unhook my modem.  Not much for free though.

Before I say anything. Let it be known.

I love Elder Scrolls.

I own every game in the series, and will be getting Skyrim when it comes out.

I think these games are the definition of perfection in our time. You've got everything you need in an open world game. It's only been getting better every time too.

legacyme3 : are you sure, because there are more then 5 games in the elder scrolls, do you have elder scrolls adventures redgard or even elder scrolls battle spire.

Also do you know alot about the lore of elder scrolls, like why Dunmer (dark elf) are dark skinned, or why they banned worship of Talos who is also Tiber Stemptim also did you know that the ork's real name is Orsmer and high elves real name is Altmer, and so on

lol just testing ya (;.

Just wondering, does anyone else actually read through the history books in the Elder Scrolls games? That is how I learned a lot of the stories of the different races and Gods. Even though it is because I am a bit of a nerd who used to have a lot of time on his hands, the books are actually really interesting.

I don't usually read the books just open most of them.

After over 140 hours my hero still wears the basic
iron armour, and Annekke Crog-Jumper my follower
wears studded, she more petite than the housecarls
and looks sweet.

Even though I liked Morrowind a lot better than Oblivion, I spent a lot of time on it. Before I started the main quest, I became the highest rank for each guild, found every location, completed all side quest, including the Gods quests. Then I completely finished Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles, finding found all locations in those areas. Using efficient leveling, I got all my stats except for luck to 100. All of my Major skills were maxed out and all my Minor skills except for alchemy and crafting were maxed. I had full Deidric armor. With all that, the main quest was ridiculously easy. Finished it in less that 2 hours.

I like the iron armour of Skyrim, couldn't play a male in Oblivion because he always looked like a turtle, I play in 3rd person mainly. The female of Oblivion had the skimpy iron armour and she ended up being better with the sword and stuck with her.   I like having a follower in Skyrim, to watch your back, use the bow on dragons and help carry loot, except  Annekke has a tendency to disappear often and show up on exit, may try my Solitude housecarl Jordis the Sword-Maiden.

To tell the truth, Skyrim has some really cool armor but the coolest in my eyes is the branded armor, why, I never did like deadric armor or ebony Nightingale looks cool too but branded armor just fits the Nordic feel to the game

I've been playing a male High Elf, so far to level 40. My gear is enchanted plate armour, enchanted leather boots and short gloves. My sidekick is Eola.

I'm just gonna join in because I love Elder Scrolls. I own every mainstream Elder Scrolls except Morrowind. On Oblivion, ( I haven't played much) I am a level 5 Male Argonian. I am a bosstastic spellsword whom uses full Blades Armor with an Akaviri Dai-Katana. (Not the best weapons but they're pretty good for a level five.) On Skyrim, I'm a little bit more amazing. I'm a level 43 Orc male whom has only achieved level 100 sneak, but has level 94 lockpicking and level 97 one-handed. I was a werewolf but now I'm a Vampire Lord due to the DLC Dawnguard. I normally use the (Exquisite)Blade of Woe and Mehrunes' Razor. I use a full set of exquisite Nightingale armor. I only have a level 67 Light Armor, so I haven't fully maxed out the capability of the armor, but I'm already to one hundred for the armor's armor rating so I wonder what it will be at 100 with all perks.
