Back when I watch this movie often, I never really thought much about this particular scene --but then again I never thought much about anything. It wasn't until the last time I ever watched this movie, years ago, that I actually was a little disturbed about this scene because *

a chicken happens to get its head cut off.
Even with how out of place the whole scene is, why is it still fascinating to have this in there? I suppose KG has the answer to it.

When I saw this thread, I smiled.  Gene Wilder at his very best guys.  I was so excited when I heard Johnny Depp was doing a remake!  An excitement only matched by my utter disappointment when I watched it.  It could have been so much better.  With today's technology the boat scene could have been really cool.
