Ok, this pisses me off and it takes a lot for me to say something like this. You contradicted yourself, and that's a big no-no in debate, even if it is off topic. I don't think Jin is being negative or pessimistic. Jin is a realist, and about as realist as anyone can get. I don't agree with him on a lot of what he says but I agree he isn't negative. Now I would appreciate if you two could stop bashing eachother and please stay on topic. This isn't a war, it's an informal debate.



On topic:
My thoughts on life outside of Earth are a bit confused. Indeed the Bible does not say there is not life anywhere else. But even so, we thrive on our planet and considering the vastness of space, there is likely another habital planet. All we've discovered so far is bacteria and perhaps that's all there is. But I think it is possible for life to thrive elsewhere. I know this wasn't mentioned, but I don't think aliens will be coming in to invade and destroy us anytime soon, so don't worry about that.

It'd be utterly awesome if we found another planet with far more advanced beings and technology than our own..

The language thing would be VERY hard to get around, and if we did find these beings what would they think of god? science? the world around them?

That would be so awesome.
